Description:
1966 Mercedes-Benz 200-Series 2 Door Hard Top
Yep, you guessed it, irresponsible bidder. Paid deposit, then set a scheme in motion {at least that's what I believe} where he locked up the car for as long as he could trying to sell it elsewhere {such as overseas} and then he would have used that person's money to pay me and make a nice profit. E-bay does a great job eradicating these kind of people, but some still slip through the cracks, especially when they're working with someone else from a crooked group. SO, ANYWAYS we are relisting one very cool, ONE OF A KIND Hot Rod. Car started life as a 1966 C250 Mercedes Benz. Condition is Used. A one of a kind Mercedes pickup / El Camino styled Hot Rod. 2 Design engineers from Grumman Aerospace and a friend of theirs with a body shop set out to build a one of a kind Hot Rod, well, they surely did that. They formed steel body panels from sheet metal to form the bed. They cut the body and brought the rear roof and glass forward to create the cab. The COMPLETE Mercedes chassis with original front suspension, original Mercedes rear differential and original fuel tank are in their original stock locations. There are so many hours in this car they could never give any where near an exact total. Five years ago when Dad drove to cars shows { Dad's turning 93 this week, but you'd never know it} no matter if he parked next to a $10,000 Street Rod or a $70,000 Trailer Queen, the Hot Rod with all the attention and a crowd gathered around, was the Mercedes pickup. It has a 400 SBC with a 350 turbo transmission and Lokar shifter on the floor. Windows work as stock. Doors work as stock. Headlights, blinkers and dash all work as they should. If you want something away from Camaros, Chevelles and Mustangs, this is the car. The car will need some of your attention, but for a not so high of investment you would be the star of the show. The 3 guys who originally built this knew what they were doing. Ask questions, we'll answer. I tried to get pics of most all angles of the car. You will have a running, driving, one of a kind Hot Rod you can finish to your liking as you drive it around.NOTE; IN ACCORDANCE WITH E-BAY POLICIES; The whole idea of a deposit is so that you follow through with your purchase, in other words, you lose your deposit if you don't follow through. I know 98 % of you already understand this, but the 2% need to be remined of E-Bay policies. These Auctions / Listings are not just entertainment.Vehicle Details:
