1986 Mercedes-Benz 190-Series 4dr Sedan 190E-16V 2.3

The Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.3-16V was originally created for Group B class rallying. After that series was canceled, the car was further developed for Touring car racing where it famously went head to head with BMW's much lauded E30 M3. The 190 2.3-16V differed from the standard 190E in many ways. Primarily, it had a 16 valve version of the 2.3 liter 4 cylinder engine that was tuned by the famous British firm Cosworth. It also had a race-inspired body kit... with a functional rear spoiler, grippy bolstered sport seats front and rear, and in most cases, a dog-leg 5 speed manual gearbox. This particular car has been cherished by its few owners. It has been prodigiously maintained and comes with a thick history file with most service receipts. It is quite fast, having had its 2.3 cams replaced with factory 2.5 cams without any valve cover modifications which makes it very similar to the European 2.5-16V Evo. The car was upgraded with a custom lightweight sport exhaust made by a 2.3-16V specialist in California. The original parts (2.3 cams and original exhaust) are included. These upgrades add approximately 20HP. The suspension has been lowered to European-spec height without affecting the original the self-leveling suspension system. Cosmetically, it is very original and very well kept. A clean Carfax supports its condition. The car comes with a factory brochure and lots of paperwork. We feel that these cars are sleepers, undiscovered by the mainstream market. This car, with its relatively low miles, is an excellent value. Are you ready to have some fun? Trades welcome.
