Hello Fellow eBay'ers. I really had dreams of restoring this beautiful car back to perfect and using her as an occasional driver and enjoying the look of a Mercedes w126 with the economy of the Diesel engine, however, I've come to realize I probably will not get the time to get to this project and I hate to have her sit there waiting on me!
I haven't done much since I purchased it on eBay about a year ago and this is what I know:
There is an oil leak that seems to be from the valve cover gasket, but not officially diagnosed.There is a coolant leak. The prior owner said it needed a radiator, and I bought a new one and it is in the trunk and goes with the car.The prior owner said there is a transmission leak, but I haven't driven it enough to see what or where, so it hasn't been diagnosed.The ABS light is on.The outside temperature indicator isn't working, but another one is included in and in the parts box in the trunk.The left rear window regulator needs the plastic clip, so it slips down. New plastic regulator slide clips are in the parts box.The prior owner said the car got into a minor side swipe, so there is damage to the left fender and driver's door (as seen in the pics).The TURBO badge is included in the parts box.Left and right side headlight/fog light frames are in the parts box and all of these go with the car. I don't think the AC works, but haven't tested it, however a set of push buttons are in the parts box as well. A new oil and air filter, OEM Mercedes will also go with the car.There is a small exhaust leak around the turbo. I will replace the battery before the sale, since the current one is dead.New motor mounts are also included in the parts box. There are 2 round cracks in the windshield.
For the little bit i did drive it, it did not drastically lose coolant, so it could be driven a short distance. The tires are old, but are holding air.
She starts right up even after sitting for a long period and shifts fine. The driver's seat is a little springy, which these all do after 200k miles!
