There are THOUSANDS in service records dating from most recent to the time when the car was purchased in 1997! Every oil change, every light bulb, every battery, every maintenance item, its all documented!! Engine and Transmission were also rebuilt few years ago as well to the tune of $15,000!!!!

This SL even comes with its ORIGINAL WINDOW STICKER!!!

What makes 1973 Model so special, is that 1973 was the last year of Small Euro Bumpers being fitted on US-Spec R107 SL's...1974 onward US models were fitted with less attractive big US spec safety bumpers, and power robbing emission controls laden engines!

Although most R107s are extremely well built and collectable, the most desirable and collectable of the R107's are the early production cars with its features - mainly short or "Euro" bumpers, and higher horse-power than its latter cousins. It is also the first V8 powered two-seater to be built at the Stuttgart, Germany factory.

Now that the W113 230/250/280SL's have become priced out of sight, here comes the early 450SL.

As recently as the mid 1990's, and early 2000's you could pick up a nice condition 1971 280SL Pagoda Roadster for around $20,000. Almost in the blink of an eye, that's what a basket case now goes for - with good condition examples regularly selling north of $75k and more.

About the car:

It's rare, elegant and highly desirable Grey Blue Metallic paint (Paint Code # 906G graublau) has a beautiful shine and luster, and coupled with Navy Blue Leather Interior, this SL looks stunning!!! This beautiful SL will stop traffic and provoke curious bystanders with its grace and beauty no matter where you go!

Chrome is in great condition, complete with healthy luster.

This SL was always loved, garaged and kept away from bad weatherso it is very solid, and its undercarriage is all original, unmolested and most importantly it is rust free! When dust is wiped off inside of the wheel wells original paint is revealed!!! There are no undercoating's of any kind except the factory one!

The body is in great shape. All doors, trunk and hood line up properly, and they are operating with ease. All chrome is complete and in nice shape as well.

Original Factory VIN # stamping on the front radiator support shows originality of this car. Another sign of originality of this car is matching Data Number Stamping on the hard top and the data card (#4736). (Please see pictures)

This Mercedes comes with both soft and the hard top! Navy Blue Soft top is in excellent condition, rear windows are crystal clear and it goes up and down with ease.

Hard top is in great shape as well, including the headliner and all the original Securit glass.

Matching tires are like brand new, have plenty of life left in them and they make this roadster float on the road!!

There is not a lot of 450SL's out there in this solid and amazingly kept and preserved condition, especially after 45 years of life on the road!!

-Interior

Navy Blue Leather Interior is clean and seats are in excellent condition. They are rips and tears free, and very comfortable and supportive!

This SL comes with power windows, and they are working as they should.

Original Becker Europa radio is intact, and interior is complete down to its Kienzle clock!

-Engine & Transmission

Powerful 4.5 Liter V8 Engine starts up on the first try, and its strong and powerful as day one. Automatic Transmission shifts smoothly and effortlessly through every gear.

Engine compartment is very neat without any signs of abuse.

It comes with a folder FULL of service records, with THOUSANDS invested into its maintenance (Please See Pictures!)).

Whatever this SL needed it was done to it, including very expensive and detailed engine and transmission rebuilt ($15,000), as its owner wanted to make sure that this beauty runs as good as it looks!!!!

Florida Residents will be responsible for Florida Sales tax, Tag & Title fees at the time of the sale, and out-of-state Residents will be more than likely responsible for their states sales tax, tag & Title fees in their own state.

A temporary tag can be issued if needed to transport the vehicle back to your home state. Temp tags are good for 30 days.
