Description:

1974 Mercedes-Benz 200-Series 240D

1974 Mercedes Benz 240D 4-door sedan, with a 4-cylinder diesel engine and automatic transmission, in used condition. Mileage shows 30,912. Car will start and run, but is currently not road worthy, due to a rusted steering/suspension part, on the right front (passenger side) of the car (see last photo). Car is pretty much complete, and in good overall condition. Body has rust on both front fenders and rear quarter panels. Hood, front grille, left side doors, passenger side front door and the trunk lid are all nice. Both rocker panels have rust and paint blisters. Passenger side floor board and toe panel have extensive rust through. Front headlight assemblies are both there, and in decent shape. Rear tail light assemblies look great. All glass is tinted, with no cracks or chips that I can see. Both bumpers have good chrome, with minor dings. All stainless trim is there and in decent shape. No hubcaps. Wheels are factory; tires are usable. Windshield wipers look fine. Trunk area looks great, with the trunk mat looking exceptionally good. Spare tire and jack are there, but bottom of the spare tire cavity has rust through. Dash has two cracks; all door panels look good. The console is in nice shape. Shifter assembly looks good and operates nicely. Carpet is all there and in decent shape. No radio. Seat belts are all there. All doors open/close fine; all side glass rolls up and down as it should. Engine compartment looks unmolested. Car will start up (with a battery), and goes forward and back, but again, is undriveable (RF wheel/tire does what it wants), and car should be towed. I have the original sales invoice to Dowd Imports, Inc., out of Cleveland Heights, Ohio, showing a suggested retail price of $9,994. I also have the original "New Car Pre-Delivery Inspection", and a number of repair/maintenance receipts over the years. Included is the factory original "Owners Manual", "Maintenance Booklet" and "Owners Service and Warranty Policy". I have a clean Indiana title. Will help your shipper/tow truck driver with loading.
