For sale I have a 1977 Mercedes Benz 300D. The car is in great shape for the year and starts/runs/drives just fine without any issue. The car is automatic, has 97k miles which to the best of our knowledge is original. The car has a brand new battery as of last week.
The exterior of the car in my opinion is in extremely great shape considering the year with just a few small rust spots shown in the video. The interior is in decent shape with a large rip in the drivers seat and typical wear elsewhere.
The car starts up just fine after allowing the glow plugs to warm up for about 10 seconds. It idles very nice without any hesitation. The shifter cable feels a bit stretched, but the car goes into every gear just fine and the transmission shifts absolutely perfect. The suspension feels excellent and it is actually an impressively smooth ride. The car may need motor mounts as the motor does appear to move around within the engine bay.
The car was a trade in at my dealership & we do not know the history or maintenance schedule. It appears to be a great running car that with a little TLC will make a very nice collectible. Please budget a few dollars in repairs and maintenance when placing your bid. We are selling the vehicle with a clear VT registration which replaces the title due to the age. This is all you will need to put the vehicle on the road.
