Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this fairly complete and original 250 SL Convertible with the California Coupe option (removable hardtop only, rear seat, no soft top). This car was recently purchased from the state of Illinois where a previous owner started some restoration work / removal of some dash items, and then put the car into storage for about a decade. The car appears quite complete with very little missing.The outer body panels on this car look very solid and straight with no accident damage. Panel gapping all around looks very good, with no fit issues. The car includes all of it's chrome, brightwork, and factory glass - all in good condition, which is so important when restoring one of these models.The car has some repairable main floor rust visible from underneath, and some trunk floor rust. Please look at all of the detailed undercarriage photos.The car's interior trim looks very original and complete, even including the original Becker radio and clock. Please note all of the loose spare items.The previous owner noted that the unstamped engine was a factory replacement unit in the car. The engine turns nicely and it may even run with some little work...The engine compartment overall looks very original and untouched.Overall, this modestly priced Pagoda is an excellent, complete, together car for restoration. It has never been largely apart, and boasts a very straight and solid body.
