1982 was the first year Mercedes built the gorgeous W123 series 2 door coupe coupe with a turbo charger. The 300CD coupe was made from 1978-1985 and only from 1982 in the turbo diesel version. Only 8007 of these wonderful cars made it to the US.
Here i am selling my 300CD with only 84k original miles. This is the real deal . It is a very origina, well taken care of and pampered car. This Mercedes was always garaged and it shows. There has never been an accident and there is no rust. The paint is still in wonderful condition. It shines like on a much newer car. The chrome is in outstanding condition and i do get compliments on it every time i drive it.
This 300CD was finished in "light ivory" ( MB color code 623) with Palomino color MB-Tex interior. Since the car was always garaged, the interior is still in amazing condition. There are no rips or tears in the seats . The door panels and the headliner are perfect . The original wood is in wonderful condition and there are no cracks in the dashboard. Even the mirrored sun visors are still in great shape. I did take many detailed pictures and they can show the car better than i can describe it.
Everything on this car works the way it should. All the windows, the power sunroof, the power door lock, the radio and even the power antenna work as intended. Just recently the car has been serviced with fluids, filters, valve adjustment and AC service. The air-conditioning has been converted and it blows ice cold. I could not think of anything this classic Mercedes needs. It always starts up right away and has plenty of power from the get go. The transmission shifts smoothly through all the gears and it is a really fun car to drive in town and on the freeway.
It is like experiencing true luxury from 30 years ago without all the electronic bells and whistles of today. There are no electronic sensors giving wrong signals every few days. If you take care of this car with simple maintenance, there is no reason you could not still be driving it 30 years from now.It is like going back in tim, when cars were built to last a lifetime and not just until the next years model comes along. With only 84k miles this car is barely broken in and should last you another 500k miles without any mayor engine work.
I would not hesitate to drive this 300CD to the east coast at a moments notice. It has been maintained properly and it shows right away once you drive it. You can cruise comfortably at 85-90 miles per hour while still getting 27 mpg of diesel. With the low miles and the excellent original conditio, this would be a perfect car for a classic car collector. It would also be a perfect candidate for somebody who likes classic car, but needs them to be very reliable for every day driving. The W123 series are considered to be some of the longest lasting and most reliable cars Mercedes ever built. They built their legacy with these cars.
