1972 Mercedes-Benz L306D

This is rare, and beautiful find! I have never been in a vehicle so enjoyable to drive around, and, it really is a blank slate to take it any direction you want. A beautiful representative of the Mercedes stamped Hanomag Henschel Transporter Microbus! Speedometer/odometer stopped working around 500 miles ago, but, by my assessment she has not but 117,455 or max 217,455 miles on a very strong running 4 cylinder diesel. The odometer has turned over, but I do not think it has turned over more than twice as it runs too strong, and has too little grime on her to account for many more miles. Speedometer can be rebuilt by any one of the many reputable companies specialising in them in the U.S. All the parts for this beautiful machine are still available, most from one source in Britain. Any others are attainable through other sources. She has 4 new heavy duty "8" ply(8pr) tires(load rated C), new front shocks, new motor mounts, new transmission mount, new brass sleeved wheel cylinders all around, relined and arced front brakes shoes with 1/4 inch lining riveted and glued both, turned drums, new master cylinder and sensors, new wilwood brake force regulator, new braided stainless brake lines at master cylinder, at wheels and at regulator, new clutch, new pressure plate, new throw out bear and clips, 50 miles on valve adjustment with new valve cover gasket. Just serviced: oil bath air cleaner, full chassis greasing, new lower front ball joint on passenger side(comes with drivers side ball joint, not installed), diesel return lines replaced with new, injector pump checked and topped with new fluid, new fuel filters installed, transmission drained and topped with new gear oil, motor oil and primary and secondary filters changed then run for 50 miles then changed again to flush system as she sat for quite some time while work was being done. All existing and new parts installed were put in with new bolts, stainless when available of which about 75 percent were. I have kept a box with new bolts, some with designated locations others just on hand, all old bolts have been kept as well. Comes with many new and used parts. Full set of factory service manuals, New window gasket material, front end ball joint, new set of fast glow plugs, new brake shaft spring, new fuel filters, extra used starter, box of new wiring gear, new heater hose and fuel hose, engine gasket and seal set, original heavy duty screw jack and road warning sign kit, and some tools. You will note the cracked windshield. A new windshield has been paid for and is awaiting retrieval in Oakland, Ca. at a private residence. I have not been able to retrieve, pickup will have to be arranged by you with kind gentleman storing it with his own, or forfeit it. Other windshields are still available through two companies in Europe, however, they are very costly, and shipping is then another matter. This bus has minimal rust and is ready to be shaped into the deluxe custom camper bus you have always wanted, restored to its original glorious state, made into a sweet vegetable oil dirtbagging mobile, or some other remarkable and eye catching iteration! I receive, more thumbs up and applauds when driving this around than, I imagine, any VW owner gets. Imagine the marketing potential of this vehicle with your or someone else's company logo on it, delivering kegs about town, for example! Tell your fellow brewery and business owners of this vehicle! Buy it before I change my mind! I am very hesitant to let her go!!
