Thank you for looking. If you are looking for a new Benz the dealership has plenty. If you're looking for a classic big body diesel Benz then you might want to continue reading. THIS CAR NEEDS WORK AND IS NOT PERFECT. Odometer reads 256,032 but STOPPED WORKING. Car has under 300K on it, but other than the VIN check you have to bid as if the mileage is unknown. It does run and drive and is also not a waste of time. The transmission shifts through all gears and does not slip. The motor runs well and still has plenty of power. The car spent many years in Florida and is not a rust bucket. Everything on the car is original and OEM as far as I know. This car has been in my family for 34 years and we know the original owner. There is a lot good with this car, but there is some bad. It runs and drives currently and I drove it about 35 miles today including highway driving. It is currently registered and insured in Connecticut. CONNECTICUT DOES NOT TITLE VEHICLES OF THIS AGE. You will be given a bill of sale and a copy of the current registration. IF YOU ARE OUT OF STATE please be aware YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE A TITLE. This should not be a problem but please look into and address this before bidding. PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE LISTING BEFORE BIDDING. This is a NO RESERVE auction, so if you bid you could end up owning this car. The car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early. If the car is not sold locally when there are 48 hours left in the auction, I will definitely sell it through EBay. Your bid is not a waste of time. If we speak over the phone and you want a mechanic to look at the car at your expense I will give you and your mechanic access to the car. If you would like to see the car in person the same rules apply; we need to speak on the phone. The car can be test driven and I drove it today. I had a baby and just don't have time to fix this car and it is an extra car for us. I have driven it around town a couple times a month to keep it moving. This has gone on for over a year and it is just time to move on. I thought I would fix it but I just can't make time to make it a daily driver again. Below is a list of what I know what is wrong with the car. This might be everything, it might not. The car is sold AS IS, with no warranty. I am trying to tell you everything so there are no surprises (or excuses to back out of your bid). I AM NOT A MECHANIC. I AM DESCRIBING THE CAR AS ACCURATELY AS I CAN WITH THE KNOWLEDGE I HAVE.

Engine - Engine runs very well and has plenty of power. Oil has been changed every 5k, and fuel filters every 5k for over 30 years. Air Filter changed every 10K. Known issues with the engine include but are not limited to an oil leak. Looks to be around the turbo but I don't exactly know. The car is 35 years old and an oil leak is expected. The engine also has a fuel leak. I think it is at the injectors and could be the return lines. It could be the injectors, the return lines, or something else. I am not a mechanic and don't know. The engine runs well. Starts up and smokes a bit but what old diesel does not. Original engine block heater does not work, but there is a radiator heater for colder nights. The motor mounts were replaced a few years ago.

Transmission - As far as I know there is nothing wrong with the transmission. Shifts well for a 35 year old transmission. Holds in all gears. Downshifts well when accelerating. Does not slip and reverse works. Filter and fluid changed two years ago.

Other Mechanicals - The car NEEDS FRONT END WORK. I don't know exactly what the car needs in terms of front end work. There is no noise but the tires have worn unevenly and it is not an alignment issue. There is also a lot of play in the wheel so some of the front end needs work. Brakes work well.

Tires - Front tires are uneven, worn and tires will NEED REPLACING. The tires will get you home (assuming you are not driving to CA) but will need to be replaced sooner than later. Tires are only stock 14" tires and inexpensive.

Interior - Interior is fair. Please see pictures. Car was in Florida for many years and the Florida heat took its toll on the leather. There is a tear in leather on the passenger front seat. The front seat armrest has a lot of cracking and tears in it as well. Small pieces missing from trim and buttons. Nothing really noticeable but some small things missing.

Body - The paint on the car is original and faded from the Florida sun. There is a little rust. Please see pictures. Rear trunk lid has been touched up with paint that is not a direct match over the year. Please see picture. Small piece of surface rust on passenger front door. Please see picture.CAR HAS NEVER HAD ANY BODY WORK OR FILLER NO WAS IT EVER IN AN ACCIDENT.

Electrical - CAR HAS SOME ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. Nothing that does not allow you to drive the car. Headlights and brakes lights work properly. Alternator works and car has AGM battery in it. Currently the gauges are not working. This is something more recent. It is not a fuse. The only thing that works on the dash is the analog clock. Engine temperature, Oil pressure, fuel, speed and tachometer are not currently working. Turn signals are also not working but the emergency flashers are working. The ODOMETER IS NOT WORKING. The car has less than 300k on it but you need to bid as if the mileage is unknown. The power locks work but are disconnected. The vacuum pump for the door locks sometimes does not unlock the trunk so I just disconnected the system and made it manual locking. All power windows work, but not all the window switches work. Driver side, backseat window switch up front does not put the window up. Switch in the backseat works for up and down. Drivers side front window switch needs to be hit a few times to get to go up or down. Always works, just takes a few tries. Also driver's window up limit is broken and you need to stop the window by taking you finger off the switch. Power sunroof works. Sometimes has problems closing and you need to help push it closed. POWER DRIVERS SEAT DOES NOT MOVE FORWARD. It will recline and fold forward but will not move forward towards the wheel. All functions on the passenger seat work as they should.

HVAC - Heat works well. AC system works but needs a recharge every spring. AC system was converted to R134 years ago.

Radio - Radio is original OEM radio. Some of the digital display does not work at times. Every once in a while the radio does not power on. It usually is only for a day or two and always comes back. The power antenna does not work. The motor runs but the antenna does not go up and down. The switch inside the car works as well. Antenna currently just tapped up.

I've tried to describe the car as best I can. PLEASE DON'T BID IF YOU DON'T WANT TO OWN THIS CAR. Let's not waste each other's time. If you bid $200 and nobody else does, the car is yours! Car still has original owner's manual, first aid kit, and tool kit. I am more than happy to send additional pictures of anything you would like.
