1969 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class SL280
CLASSIC ONE OF A KIND 1969 MERCEDES 280SL / 8 CONVERTIBLE
The Mercedes-Benz W113 is the 2 seat roadster introduced in 1963 at the Geneva Motor Show and produced from 1963 through 1971. The W113 was developed by Mercedes-Benz Technical Director Fritz Nallinger, Chief Engineer Rudolf Uhlenhaut and head of styling Friedrich Geiger. Lead designers were Paul Bracq and Bela Barenyi who were responsible for creating the distinctive, patented slight concave hardtop design which inspired the Pagoda nickname.
All models including this one were produced with an inline 6 cylinder multi port fuel injected engine. The bonnet, trunk lid, door skins and tonneau covers were made of aluminum to reduce weight. Due to the fact of the shorter and wide chassis, combined with an excellent suspension, powerful brakes and radial tires, the W113 had excellent handling and was way ahead of it's time. The front styling was reflective of the legendary 300SL roadster that the W113 had replaced.
This car is not only stunning, she is a piece of motoring history. This car is in excellent ready to enjoy condition. No leaks, starts right up, ready to drive all summer. There is a new top, the interior is a 8 out of 10. This car is solid!
