1959 Mercedes Benz 219 Ponton 6 cyl Hydrak Rare Runs
1959 Mercedes-Benz 200-Series base
Up For Auction is my Mercedes 219 Ponton. It is a great car and I spent over 5,000 on it last year getting the fuel system redone. Fully new brakes, (new drums, shoes, fittings etc)master cyl, lines redone. The mechanic didn't replace the pipe that runs over the diff and that failed - hence the crushed rear fender. Car does run and runs nicely. this car is very original. You probably would want to repaint it bbut it actually shows pretty well as a patina car. there's a hole in the foot well but no real cancer rust on the car. I drove the car last summer before the brakes fiasco. The hydrak works ok but it is a strange driving experience. Car is sold as is where is. I am moving to Germany and its too much of a pain to get the car shipped and then dealt with. I do have a bunch of spare parts for the car that will come with the purchase.including a rear fender - its just the wrong side.
Please ask questions. This car isn't perfect but it is a great base for what ever you want to do with it. These cars are hard to find in usable condition. Shipping is on you - I'll be here to assist. the car runs but doesn't stop. So you'll want to tell the shipper it is in-op
