1981 Mercedes-Benz 200-Series 240d

The W123 chassis are among the most durable, stylish, and sought after automobiles ever produced by Mercedes-Benz. If you are reading this listing you likely already know that these vehicles can easily be found on ebay and elsewhere with 300k, 400k miles, or more. This amazing car at 35 years old has under 53,000 miles... that's about 1,500 miles a year!
This amazing example is in incredible condition. Great lustre and shine in the paint. Please note this is NOT a restoration, just a well cared for, garaged 35 year old car. I believe I am the 2nd owner: it was bought in Charlotte, NC in 1981 and driven by an older lady until she eventually gave the car to her granddaughter who traded it in 2014.
Mechanically everything is in order even to include the dash analog clock which I replaced with a factory original. The vacuum system including the master lock feature that locks/unlocks all doors when the driver's door is unlocked. A/C works. Engine starts and runs fine every time.
In reviewing the photos note that even the original 240d floor mats are still there. Owner's manual is still in the glove box. Also, note one of the photos to include documentation I have assembled on the car - not a complete set of documentation but includes what I have done.
The only thing I am aware of that might need attention and is cosmetic in nature is the piece of wood trim on the glove box that has warped and pulled away from the glue. This is a common condition for these cars.
I had the windows professionally tinted and the tint is in great shape. Also replaced all the original speakers in the car with new same-size speakers... was NOT willing to cut up or alter the car. Due to the 2 small speakers in the front and rear there was little bass so I added the subwoofer in the trunk. The audio system also includes bluetooth. The original AM/FM Becker cassette player factory option is available and will be provided with the car. (The dash was not cut to install the new unit in the dash).
