This car has a Nardi Wood Steering Wheel (Factory Steering Wheel Also Included) Kenwood Stereo (Factory Radio Delete Insert Included) With production of the 190SL and 300SL models ending in 1963, Mercedes-Benz turned to the 230SL to carry on the tradition of the SL moniker. The new design was met with rave reviews at the Geneva Auto Show its squarer shape was a departure from the more rounded cars that Mercedes-Benz had been known for at the time. The hardtop roof, referred to as the Pagoda, added to the unique design of the car with the benefit of safety and added visibility. Mercedes-Benz sometimes refers to their cars by chassis code, the 230SL falls under the W113 chassis code designation. Production for the 230SL ran through 1967. This 1966 Mercedes-Benz 230SL Roadster is presented in red and features a factory hardtop. The car was restored by MSX. During the restoration the body was stripped to bare metal, repainted, and re-assembled with new rubber seals and was just recently completed. The 2.3L M127 inline six-cylinder engine received Mercedes-Benz replacement parts during its rebuild. The engine is paired to a floor-shift four-speed manual transmission. The interioris correct with Mercedes-Benz parts including newer seat covers, door panels, carpet and a Haartz canvas soft-top. The tan interior shows very well and is complemented by a red dashboard. Aftermarket additions to the interior include a Nardi wood steering wheel, wood shifter knob and an aftermarket stereo. The car also features newer style Mercedes-Benz wheels. The original factory steering wheel is included in the sale (pictured in trunk). This car has been fully inspected and everything is operational to factory standards.
