1985 Mercedes-Benz 300 Turbo Diesel
1985 Mercedes-Benz 300-Series
This too me is a very interesting car. The car came with the original maintenance booklet which shows maintenance being performed until 3/12 and 267,000 miles. When I bought the car, I performed an oil and filter change, including changing both fuel filters. I also installed a new alternator and a new battery. Also, please research the vin number on this car through a google search to see the last few years of it's history. When I purchased the car, the key was sticking which is also noted in the web searches. Well, if your using the wrong key, it's going to stick! I purchased a new key and it works fine. The muffler was also off the car and there was a hole further upstream so I had a straight pipe ran with no mufflers. I also reattached the rear bumper. These last two repairs are not stock, but if you want it stock, you know where to find parts. I took this car to a car show this past week and for a $20 donation, they ran it on their chassis dynamometer. The car produced 235.6 Ft Lbs of torque at 987 RPM. I bought this car as a daily driver, but I was just informed that I will be relocating to Qatar. I bought the car with 277,400 miles on it and in less than a month I put more than 1,400 miles on this car, averaging 23 mpg. I like this car. There is so much information on this car through searches. On May-27-16 at 15:09:41 PDT, seller added the following information:
