I am a classic automobile collector/dealer specializing in vintage European automobiles andmust say that this is one of the nicest examples of a classic diesel Mercedes you will ever see.
This is a very special 1982 Mercedes-Benz 300CD. It is a two-owner partially restored example that is in impeccable condition inside and out. The original owner bought the car new in Los Angeles where it remained until 1997 when the second owner purchased it and brought it to New York. It came to us from the secondowner.
This car is and always has been 100% rust free. It has never been in any accidents and has had no body work of any kind except for one high quality re-spray in its original color. It still retains all of its laserstraight original body panels with impeccable fit and finish.
Under the hood is the original 5-cylinder. The engine and transmission were completely rebuilt 7,000 miles ago at a cost of over $11,000. This car runs and drives flawlessly and is incredibly fuel efficient. At the same time, all of the suspension was replaced including all wear parts, bushings, shocks, drive shaft, etc. It has all new brakes and Michelin tires. The a/c has beencompletely gonethrough and has a new compressor andcondenser and has been converted to R134 coolant. It blows ice cold.
Inside you will find the original interior in excellent condition. All of the power window and power seat motors have been replaced. The original clock and Becker Europa Radio have been rebuilt. It has a factory sunroof too. Every single item on this car has been gone through and replaced/rebuilt when needed. I have over $30,000 in receipts including every single service record since the car was new. All work was completed at Mercedes-Benz Factory Authorized Service Centers.
This car has the original protect-o-plate, owner's manuals, original bill of sale, originalpre-inspection sheet, and close to 100 service record pages. It is an impeccable example of anincreasingly collectible car.
