1990 Mazda MX-5 Miata

Here is a 1990 Mazda Miata, with a 1.6 liter with an automatic transmission and 164,033 miles. I started to write a description of our ownership, but it started to turn into a novel. So here is the abbreviated version.
THE AIRBAG SYSTEM IS NOT WORKING AND HAS BEEN DISABLED. The control module likely has leaking capacitors, and could probably be repaired by someone.
Body: When I got the car in 2008 the left front frame rail had been slightly crunched, and some rust was beginning. I treated the rust and installed Fly’N Miata frame rail supports. Recently I repaired the typical small rust spots in the corner of the rocker panels and repainted the car. There are still some dents and flaws that I did not fix before I painted it. The paint job is good for a daily driver. It has a brand-new Robbins Cloth top, with panoramic rear window.
Interior: The interior is in great shape. The power windows work well, and I added a power trunk release. When I first got it for my wife, she really wanted an S2000, so I added a push-to-start button. I added a mirror with courtesy lights since the stock lights are weak. There is a Sirius satellite radio that is included. I put headrest speakers in the driver’s seat, but getting the seat cover back together was an issue, so I never got the pair for the passenger seat installed. They are included in the sale. I had to use zip ties to keep the padding together, which bulge behind the headrest. The air conditioner works well, and is a 134a system removed from a 1995 Miata.
Engine: The engine was rebuilt by me about 15,000 miles ago,and runs well. It is a short-nosed crank, but it in perfect condition. I installed new lifters and had the head rebuilt. The car has been off the road for the past 5 years while I did the body work (this is where the original description started to become a novel). I mention this because even though the timing belt has low mileage, it did sit dormant for a while, so a replacement might want to be done. The transmission also works well.
Wheels/Tires: The wheels have been media blasted and powder coated. The tires are serviceable, but also sat for about 8 years and should be replaced. The brakes are also recent.
This car is being sold as is/where is. I can deliver up to 100 miles from zip code 08848, or will work with your shipper. If you are feeling adventurous, it could be driven pretty much anywhere, but I would consider the age of the tires. This is a no reserve auction, and there is NO buy it now, so please don’t ask. I recommend coming to inspect it if possible, and I can send any pictures that you may want. A $200 dollar deposit is required within 48 hours of auction close.
