Manufactured (6/1989) within the first few weeks that they made the Miata MX-5

1990 Mazda MX-5 Miata 5-Speed

You are bidding on a First Model Year 1990 Miata.
Mazda launched the Miata (MX-5) in 1990 with production starting in May 1989. The miata has been in production for over 27 years and millions produced.
This miata as seen by the tVIN tag was manufactured in June of 1989. This makes it one of the first ones. From the research that I did... based on the last digits of the VIN number this is either the 888th or the 10,888 Mazda produced. Either way with a June 1989production it still is kinda cool to know that this is one of the first.
Why am I selling... Well I really don't want to sell. This was going to be a project car for me. I know that early Miatas made Great Monster Miatas with a V8 under the hood. Or I was going to convert to an electric car. Was not sure. I then found out that this was one of the first cars and I found this car fun to run around town in with the top down. I put skinny fat tires on it and it was like driving a go-cart!!! It corners like it is on rails! Because it was fun, crazy reliable I just kept it as my run-about car.
I recently had a situation happen that I now have to sell the car. I however do not want to unless the right offer comes in and someone can see the vale in when this car was manufactured. I also hope that the person who ends up with this car will make it their project car.
This car is mechanically sound and runs great. Body is in great shape with no major dents or damage. As you can see from the pictures.
