Status: will need basic TLC to get car running as car has been garaged for over 10 years - like carburetor to be cleaned and possible gas tank clean out etc. to get car started. Was running before it was garaged.
Last Driven in 2010 when it was garaged.Been sitting garaged for over 10 yearsAt that time it drove strong, steered straight, and handled like a dream. Surprisingly the ride is refined and hugs the road like it’s on rails. I would describe the ride like a smooth steel rollercoaster in that it’s silky and hugs tight without any roll. I am selling as I never got to the project portion of my aspirations with this car and time is up as I no longer fit in this car anymore, I’m 6’ 210lbs.
The reality is I never really fit that well in the car.Without pedal modification, I would say the ideal height for this car is 5’8”. I would say this car is probably ok for someone who is a skinny 5’10”, but any taller and I would say you’d have to be pretty dedicated.
I wanted to learn how to work on the car, but I never got to it as life got in the way which is one of my biggest regrets. This car looks like it’s easy to work on for someone who is mechanically savvy as everything is wide open. I’m sure original parts are rare, but if you don’t care about that then it looks like there are many work around to keep it running.
Lotus Europa is a very unique vehicle and not for everyone.It’s for an enthusiast who is looking to experience the British racing energy of the 60’s. It’s basically a go kart designed by a genius to get you intimate with the road. When I see videos on people who review this car I can see and feel the breathless anxiety felt only by those whose minds can’t grasp the pure thrill that only a select few cars can provide.
