Description:

1962 Lotus Super Seven

The known and verifiable history of SB1497 begins with the 2nd owner and importer who acquired SB1497 as a used car from a Wolseley dealer down the street from the Lotus plant in Cheshunt. He had the top, ide curtains and tonneau cover made locally in Cheshunt by the local Roll Royce dealer. He drove it around England and France and then shipped it home to San Diego in 1965. Imported painted French blue, hen resprayed British Racing Green (have pics); another respray to present black lacquer. I purchased the car in 1974 and have street driven and raced it; never any damage to the body or frame. The car has been in dry storage since 1987.

The car is in very good original condition and needs cleaning and assembly of the 109E engine and drivetrain to the new owners specs. Supplied are the original parts that have been in dry storage since purchase. The car can be restored to very original condition complete with narrow wheels and fenders with the supplied parts.
