Description:

1956 Lincoln Continental

Here’s your chance to own a real 1956 Continental Mark II personal luxury car produced by the Continental Division of Ford Motor Company. These elegant classics were hand built for each individual buyer at the cost of $10,000 per car and with less than 3,000 produced they are true classics.

I purchased this car July 2019 from a dealer in the Chicago area and have very little knowledge about the car and its history. When I took delivery of the car it was driven directly from the enclosed transporter into my garage where it sat for five months. I am now in the process of moving and would like to sell the car verses trying to find a place for it.

The following information was provided to me by the dealer where I bought the car, he stated the engine was rebuilt in 2017 at the cost of $10,000. Since purchasing I have verified the following; the car has factory air conditioning, however the unit is not working, it appears that most or all of the parts are in place. The tires including spare appear to have new tread, however they may be a few years old. All four of the hard to find finned hubcaps are very nice and a spare hubcap is in the trunk. The original leather interior including door panels are showing signs of wear as you would expect. Two pieces of chrome trim are missing on both door panels. The carpet in the passenger compartment and trunk look very good. All four power windows work and the right-side power vent window works. The power seat worked when checked. Head lights turn signals and brake lights worked when checked. These cars start in neutral and this one can be a little touchy when starting. The dealer stated the car had been painted within the past five years, I would estimate the paint is well over ten years old. The body does have some minor dings and chips but over all seems to be in good driver condition.

The previous owner titled the car in 1991 in Illinois and the car now has a Florida 2019 title in my name.

I paid $26,689 for the car five months ago not counting transportation fees. I am offering the car at a no reserve with a modest starting price of $22,500. Please look at the pictures some are mine and some from the dealer where I purchased the car. This is the best deal on the internet for a running Continental Mark II.

Remember this is a 64-year-old car that has had a lot of work done and money spent in the past few years and could use some additional work to make it into the grand classic that it once was. Just like all of us as we get older it has some drips and leaks. With that said the car is being sold as-is, where-is and without any warranty.

High bidder takes the car so please make sure you have the funds available prior to bidding. A modest deposit of $500 will be required at the close of auction with the balance paid within 7 days. If you are a first-time bidder on eBay contact me through eBay before bidding. Thanks for looking and bidding.
