For sale is this beautifully restorted 1961 Lincoln Continental Convertible. The car was purchased in 2009 in North Hollywood, California where is had lived its whole life. I still have the original black plates with yellow writing on them. The Exteroir, Undersid, Interior and all mechanical components have been refinished in one way or another. All parts on the car were refinihsed back to original finish or powdercoated. This includes the entire underside of the car. The following information provides details in certain areas of the car that have been refinished.There may be a lot of information here, but I figure if your going to spend money on classic car and vehicle, you need to know as much as possible. Keep in mind there were no corners cut with the care of refinishing of this car. Money was spent and time was not spared to make sure things are done once.

EXTERIOR* Exterior refinished in Sultana white as was the original color of the car. The clear coat process was used for the paint work. This includes door jambs, trunk area, and engine bay. * All extrior bright work has been refinished to the upmost quality. All dents, scractches, abornormalities removed. This includes original wheel covers from 1961. Reinstalled with care using proper fasteners available for trim work. Fasteners polished or replaced with new hardware. All exterior bright work was refinished by JR Plating in Minnesota. * All new weatherstripping has been installed around the doors, tailight assemblies, convertible top and rear tray, trun, engine bay area. * New Canvas Stayfast convertible top installed by R and R Restorations in Maplewood MN. All new tack stripping and seals used during install. Top Provided by Jim Wallace at Leather Restorations. * Exterior Glass is original except for the windshield. New windshield installed. Windshield has shade band at top that comes with A/C factory install.INTERIOR
* Interior refinished with premium products. * Door Panels; Material by Jim Wallace of Leather Restorations. Door panels have correct size piping. Wood replaced with new wood panels. * Carpet and Insulation; Carpet installed using Jim Wallace Leather Restorations. Sound dampening was installed on the floor of vehicle, on door removable inner panels. Dampening makes a world of difference even as a convertible. * Dash pads (2) and A/C Drop down panel refinished by JUST DASHES of California. Done very well. Factory finish and look. Using correct Material. Other materials used on Dash pad replaced with new material, Wood Replaced on dash. * All interior brightwork refinished or buffed. All in excellent shape. * All interior features functioning as designed. Cigarette Lighters, Windows including REAR AUTO DROP feature. All switches for window function and rear window drop operation have been restored for function. Interior lighting is functioning as designed. * Door Locks are functioning as designed. Door Lock actuators in door have been replaced. All Vacuum lines have been replaced. * WIring harnesses for all four doors repaired. New harness sections were made for all four doors. This means all wiring removed from door jamb area, replaced. This was meticoulsly done. All four doors have wiring harness carriers installed. Common for wire failure in the door jambs due to age and use. All premium wire used with proper connections and heat shrink. * Aftermarket stereo installed. Center console made to carry stereo and place for drinks. The console allows the car to not be modified. Console is easy to remove. Amplifier installed under front seat. Wiring ran appropriately. Focal speakers installed in custom made kick panel speaker enclosures. The enclosures resemble the factory instrument panel gauge shape. Looks great, sounds wonderful. All can be removed without hurting car. Body or interior not modified for this install. Am Radio is still in original location, has power but is not hooked up to antenna making it non functional.
UNDERSIDE
* Everything removed from underside. Car looks just as nice on the underside as the top of the car. Underside prepped, sealed and painted. 3M body Shulz applied for sound dampening, protection and clean underbody look. All components on the underside of the car were refinished or powdercoated and reinstalled. Fuel tank refinished. Weatherstriping cleaned or replaced and reinstalled on the underside. * Stainless steel Fuel and Brake lines front to rear installed. Lines premade for proper fit. Convertible Top* Convertible Top works well. * All parts on the top were refinished and precisely install. * New Stayfast canvas top installed. Top made by Jim Wallace at Leather Restorations. * All new hydraulic components installed. Pump, hoses, solenoids, hydraulic rams. * Relays and mechanical switches rebuilts through out the car. All adjusted and working as designed. * New harness installed when top was installed. Harness from John Cashman.
ELECTRICAL
* Convertible top electrical working well and in good order.* Engine bay harness replaced. * During the restoration process, if there was a wiring repair or malfunction, repair was done. * New battery installed. MECHANICALEngine/Cooling System * Engine has been rebuilt using the best products available. Pistons were custom made using original design that were in engine. Meaning taking into account the valve reliefs. The pistons are not flat. Pistons made by J.E. Pistons. Pertronix ignition installed. Carb has been serviced. Tune up current. All other products on the engine are of premium quality. Fluids have been maintained, and changed frequently based on time more than mileage. * Cooling system; Radiator recored, Hoses replaced, new clamps, recored heater cores, new thermostat, temp sensor, fan clutch, water pump. *Exhaust manifolds machined for proper seal and checked for cracks. Mounted solid with no leaks.*Pertronix ignition upgrade done at rebuild of engine. Proper NGK spark plugs used. New ignition components.* Carb serviced at The Carburator Shop in Forest Lake MN* Rebuilt Starter Motor* Rebuild Water Pump
TRANSMISSION;* Transmission Rebuilt by Northanland Transmission in Wisconsin. Great builder and determined to have qaulity work. Shifts very smooth, No leaks at transmission. No transmission function concerns. Transmission was adapted to use Dexron II atf.
Exahust ; * Exhaust replaced from manifold to the tips. Band Clamps used instead of u- bolt clamps. Much better install. Sounds great. System made by customer builder for exhaust Kepich Exhaust systems.
A/C:System components serviced such as Evaporator, Drier replaced, condenssor checked, All new hoses and seals. System was working, but compressor went bad at the end of fall and could not get repaired before snow fall. Certainly something to discuss with possible buyer.
DriveShaft/Rear End;* All rear wheel bearings replaced with new seals. Differential in good order. Fluid and cover gasket replaced. Driveshaft balanced and newer needle bearings installed on yoke. Rear end painted. Backing plates and all components that were able to be removed were refinished. Very clean and functional.
BRAKESModification done; Front Brakes; 1966 Lincoln Continental Front Brake Setup. Core products purchased, replaced with refinished products. Reman Calipers, New pads, Rotors replaced with new bearings and seals. Master updrade. Booster upgrade and modified to fit 1961 Brake pedalRear Brakes refinished. All new components. Drums turned. SUSPENSION/STEERING* All suspension bushings replaced with best parts availble. Front radius arm bushings replaced with urethane bushings. * New Front and Rear Bilstein Shocks installed. * New front and rear springs installed. * Steering Pump Resealed. Steering Gear Rebuilt and installed. Working as designed. System very smooth. * Alignment done. Drives great.
DASH FUNCTION
* Vacuum hoses under dash have been replaced. All vacuum actuators in dash have been replaced or restored related to heating system and air conditioning. * Heater Cores left and right have been recored. Heater water valves have been rebuilts. New heater hoses throughout. * Dash lights working as designed. All gauges have been cleaned and repainted where needed. Gauges were serviced by APT Instruments in MN. Gauges working as designed. * Turn signal does not cancel, have been trying to find a used or NOS and have had no luck. WHEELS AND TIRES; * 15 inch chevy wheels used. * 15 inch trim rings installed on back side of wheel covers (covers not altered) to take up gap of 14 inch wheel. Looks great. * New whitewall tires installed. Tires provided by Diamond TIres. Toyo Brand
