Description:

1979 Lincoln Continental

In 1979 Lincoln Made the Collectors Series to Commemorate the final, "traditional" full size year of the Lincoln. This garage kept Pennsylvania beauty has 66,360 miles. I have a very solid example that has been restored to a degree. The entire car has been repainted and the original Midnight Blue color over 5 years ago. I see no evidence of an accident on this Lincoln. The car was not a rot box prior to painting. The vinyl 1/2 top has never been painted or dyed and is in fantastic condition. The wide white wall tires are in really nice shape and set off the turbine wheels with blue between each fin. The chrome is in nice shape with a few age related spots common with a 40 year old beauty. All of the glass is spotless.
The 400 ci V8 motor is very strong. 400 ci was the only motor available in 1979. A list of service items completed 25 miles ago is as follows: Brand new Interstate proper size and cranking amps battery. Transmission service and at the same time a transmission tail shaft seal. The transmission pan was refinished at the same time. This car shifts like brand new. The distributor cap, distributor rotor, spark plug wires, spark plugs, valve cover cork gaskets, valve covers redone, belts, hoses, ignition coil, fuel filter, air filter, coolant flush, thermostat, oil change with filter, windshield wipers. The dual exhaust is like new from front to rear. The power robbing pollution system has been removed to improve performance and a Holley Carburetor was fitted. This Lincoln runs strong and has lots of power.
The air condition works great!! The factory radio and antenna work. The radio sounds really nice. The power steering is effortless like factory new. The vaccum lights open and close properly. All lights work. Wipers work. Horn works. Cruise Control is not working. Power seats work. Power locks are making noise but and are fussy so they need work. Key unlocks the car and trunk. The illuminated key holes and pillar lights work properly.
The leather is in very nice shape. The carpets are not faded. They are fluffy and clean. The headliner is in great shape. Visors work properly. The dash and back dash have held up very well since it was kept inside most of the time. The quarter windows work well. I am not going to try the back ones. The trunk is plush like a living room. The spare is behind the thick carpet. This car rides like no other car out there. Like on a cloud but suprisingly responsive. Front disk brakes stop the car well. Shocks and other suspension parts are functioning properly.
Overall, this Lincoln is a stunning example that is all serviced up ready to enjoy! The work to freshen up the car has been done so now it is ready to be enjoyed. Antique insurance by Hagerty is very affordable. Out of the Country Buyers are welcome. I have no extra fees. You won't find a Collectors Series with low miles, restored like this one for such a reasonable price. Ready Auto Transport is a good place for a shipping quote using my zip code 14445 and yours. I am Mike and I am going to take care of you every step of the way to make this a smooth and easy transaction!
