It was originally commissioned as a one-off custom by Edsel Ford to take to his winter home in 1938 and was received so well by his affluent friends that he decided to put the car in to production. The styling was very modern and original for the time period with subdued trim a low slung hood and roof and of course the very famous covered spare tire at the rear that defined Lincoln styling for decades. This "resto-mod" is an older restoration driver quality and has a modern 5.7 liter Chevrolet Crate Motor and TH350 Automatic Transmission in lieu of the original flathead V12 and manual gearbox. Power steering was a very welcome addition to this car as is the reliability and air conditioning accommodated by the modern drivetrain. The interior is in very good condition with rich Burgundy leather seats and a Kenwood AM/FM CD stereo plays through the factory dash speaker.
