1966 Lincoln Convertable Beautiful Rag Top!!!!!
1966 Lincoln Continental
This beautiful 66' Lincoln needs a good home! The car is half-way restored and is in need of some good loving. The interioris absolutely beautiful, the power top works and the engine runs smooth! Having said that, to bring the car up to showquality condition, she needs some body work and a nice paint finish. There are also a few mechanical things we have notrepaired such as the air conditioning, wipers and the rear windows. Also, the transmission needs some adjusting. Overall, this is a verynice Lincoln that does run and drive! The above description is from the eBay auction that I looked at when I decided to call the dealer and make him an offer.I called early one morning when they were opening with my offer. They talked me up some and we made a deal. I paid1K on card to secure it. I then looked on eBay and the auction was already up $1500 above what I agreed to pay.
I settled on this car after looking for a couple of weeks. I found one and tried hard to get the one I wanted but the sellerwouldn't come down on his price. It was 12K more then the buy now price of this one. Really was out of my budget but Ireally liked it. I made him and offer, but he declined it with no counter offer so I moved on to find another one. I settled onthis one because it was in my budget. I knew it needed some work which I figured I could do myself but I really wantedone I wouldn't have to spend weekends working on. Then, 10 min after wiring the rest of the money, he emailed me andoffered me the first car I wanted for a little more than my offer. Now that I have recieved the car, I realize I don't have thetime or desire to work on one. I just want to drive it. I decided that I am not the one to do the work it needs.
It is an older restoration on the paint. Most of which looks quite good. The trunk is a patch job, bondo I think, that is notholding up. I think a new trunk lid or a re-patch again might work. I don't have the qualifications to make the call. I did dosome checking on a new top, figured I could do that myself but having not done one, reading some on how to do it, itseems beyond my tallets.
It does run and drive nicely. The ac does run and cool, but not cold. When they said the transmission needs adjusting, Ithink it is only in the linkage. It seems lose when shifting but it shifts nicely through all the gears when going down the road. I didn't feel anything unusual while I drove it. Picks up great speed very fast. It has no oil leaks at all. I did find paper workfrom a Lincoln dealership with a lot of things done to this car in Lakeland. It seems that this was a trade in car on anotherclassic purchase and then the dealership decided to sell it instead of doing further restoration. The seats are suppercomfortable, just perfect condition. I am pretty sure the mileage is rolled over. To much wear for 40K, which I figured evenbefore I bought it.

I tried pasting the eBay item page so viewers could see the auction where this car was listed when I called and worked out a deal but it seems to be too long to use without a return stroke and then it doesn't work. If you want to see the auction, text me your email and I will forward the link to you. I think it will be beneficial for interested buyers.
You can call or text me for the link or to see more pictures of the car. I will be offering this locally also and thus may need to end the auction. It looks super nice at a little distance, but up close, it shows wear and tear of age. What work was done on interior was very good quality, they just didn't keep going with the recent efforts on the restoration.
I do have the title, all you have to do is sign as buyer. Add a bill of sale and your set to go. I will help anyway I can on shipping but you pay the cost to ship.
