1979 Lincoln Mark V Continental Bill Blass Edition Low Miles Nice Original Car
Price: -
Item location: Winchendon, Massachusetts, United States
Description:
1979 Lincoln Mark Series Blue
Reason For Selling: This is a three day only Auction. The low auction starting bid reflects the time of year when buyers for classic cars (here in the northeast) lose their desire to buy nice original low mileage vehicles that need to be stored for the winter months. I am selling because I need to cash in for personal reasons. Somebody is going to be extremely blessed! Please Note: I reserve the right to sell this car and pull the listing, provided there are no bids, or by lowering the buy now price. The buy now price has to be 30% higher than the starting price by eBay policies. Therefore, I had to put a reserve on the listing - which goes against my grain a bit.
Payment Terms: I will accept cash or a cashiers check drawn on a USA bank as the only payment type (see instructions). No paperwork (title & bill of sale) will be released until the cash or cashiers check has been verified as valid and/or payable by my bank.
Retail Value: I have been asking $14,900 on the website (1979lincoln.com). On Ebay, I am starting this off at what I consider to be a below wholesale value. Bid with confidence, you just might get the deal of a lifetime!
The Bill Blass Edition: This was a marine theme in 1979. The brochure [included with the car] was provided to me when I acquired the car in 2012 from the wife of the original owner who had passed away a few years prior to me acquiring the car. The deal he made when he purchased it was penned inside it.
This car fully resembles the one inside the brochure. The white seats with the blue piping is by far the classiest color choice for this model. The blue seats were a bit bland in comparison, but the car was available either way. You also get the brochure that the salesman penned his offer on to the original buyer.
The carriage top (not an actual convertible) was also not the only choice available. All Bill Blass edition Mark V cars came with a special Bill Blass designed boat anchor styled into the buttons in the seating, the pin-striping on the trunk lid, and the badges on the top. The royal blue and white color combination added the final marine theme touch, and was the only color combination offered.

Comments:This 1979 Lincoln Mark V has been a privilege to own and drive. What surprises me is the attention she gets everywhere she goes. It seems everyone wants to take a closer look and pay her compliments.
If you really want to own a nice classic car, this is one of the finest drivers you will find in this price range that is original, and has under 50K miles on it and is exercised. Since I purchased this car in 2012, I have averaged about 3,000 miles/year on it. It isn't healthy to let cars sit.
