https://youtu.be/x0_ahEB18uMhttps://youtu.be/DQ_SWqyY49MYou are bidding on a super cool and getting more and more rare 1967 Lincoln Continental with the famous suicide doors. I get comments and props everywhere I go when I take this car out. I have a house now that has a single car car garage that I need for other things and I think I'm past the classic car stage in my life. I am going to be as honest as I possibly can about this car so no one has any surprises when they take it home but please keep in mind the car is a classic 50 year old car and its not like I drive it every day.
InteriorThe interior is beautiful for its age. It is almost 100% original. AC and heat both work with a new AC compressor. The original radio is there and works but an aftermarket radio has also been installed under the dash with speakers installed under the seats so you can still have your modern tunes. No tears or rips in the leather seat and the power seats still work as they should but of course there is some fading. Nothing a leather man couldn't get rid of. One sun visor is in the trunk because one of the mounts is missing to mount it to the roof. It has an aftermarket rear view mirror but I have the original also. The headliner is beautiful but there is one hole that I have pictured in the middle that again an interior man could make disappear. Speedometer works as do most of the lights and gauges with the exception of the alt light which stays on when a newer style alternator was installed and the fuel gauge doesn't respond which I have had diagnosed and it is the sending unit the tank not the gauge. The vacuum system is very finicky and I have had problems with it which in the interior would be the windshield wipers (They come on but go off when they want, I used rain-x if got wet) and the door locks. All the power windows work with the exception of the passenger side wing window but I do not use them as they are weak and so old.One of the window switches for the rear window is missing from the drivers door panel but I believe I have it. The power antenna also works but is not the most reliable to go back down.
EngineThe engine is a 462 big block. The engine and transmission have been rebuilt within the last few years shortly before I bought it. I not sure on the mileage. It has a new electronic ignition. It also has a new dual fan Derale electric fan setup on it although they are wired to run with ignition. You can see from the you tube videos that it starts and runs great but I am having an issue with it dying when I put it in gear and when I stop at a red light, etc. The rpms just drop for a second and it starves. It shifts great but the gear shift selector is a little finicky as to say to find the neutral safety switch. It always works you just have to wiggle it a little. The engine has a brand spanking new Holley carburetor on it. If you hear the papping in the video that is not the motor that is an exhaust leak at the divers side exhaust manifold. The engine sounds great! I am the first to say I know little about these old non computer controlled fuel systems.
BodyThe body is super straight although I can't see under the paint lol. It has been painted hot rod flat black which seems to be a really good job but I guess over the past couple of years the flat black paint hasn't held up as well as paint would. Its not faded at all but you can see from the pictures most of the body lines have tiny cracks in the paint like the flat black hardened over the years. There are a couple spots on the door, hood, and the trunk where the paint has been chipped or coming up. I took pictures of all the worst spots there are including the chips and small cracks. You could probably pinstripe over the body lines and no one would ever know. The windows are all in good shape but there is a scratch on the passenger side. I tried my best to get a picture of it. The trim has some dings here and there but mostly is in fantastic condition and all there. I have some extra letters also for it. The bumpers are in great condition for the age. There are age spots on them and on the rear bumper there is one quarter size spot of rust coming through. You cant even see it unless you bend over. From ten feet away the car looks perfect. It has almost new white wall tires on it and the original hub caps are nearly perfect. The trunk is solid as a rock and tried to get a picture of it but its hard to see because the original sound deadening is still there. I bought this car from a gentleman that moved here (Tennessee) from Las Vegas so the car from what I know came from out west. Suspension is all good that I know of and the brakes work as they should. The drivers side steer caliper and fuel line is new.
I hope you can see I am trying to be as thorough as I can be but please ask as many questions as you need too and I will do my best to answer them. I love this car, I just don't have the room, knowledge, or money to make it like I want it.
