1964 Lincoln Continental Base
Back in the 1960s if you were a president, politician, or celebrity in a parade there was a good chance you were going to be riding in a Lincoln Continental. These cars were a top of the line luxury vehicle that was packed with all the bells and whistles available during that time period. They were produced for 49 years and saw multiple redesigns throughout time. The 4th generation, like what you see here, started in 1961 and spanned until 1969. Lincoln previously marketed the Capri, Premiere, and Continental Mark series but that all changed with this generation as they were all replaced by the 4 door Lincoln Continentals. These years marked a huge redesign for the car where luxury features with a clean look was the goal. Easily identified by the rear suicide doors, these cars always stand out in a crowd. They were very popular new and still continue to be a very popular car even today. This 64 Continental is originally from Eastern Washington "Dry Hot Weather" and has remained in 2 families since the 70's and believedto be 43,000 original miles which is confirmed by both the odometer and history of being garaged for many many years. The body is very solid with no rust and was resprayed in 1990s still shine with a nice patina to it and there are only a few minor blemishes due to age. All of the chrome and stainless is straight and still has a great shine. A lot of the components like the grill are all original and by its condition you can tell how well this car was cared for. The car rides on its original wheels/hubcaps which have been wrapped in brand new white wall tires.
The drive-trainof the car is all original and a majority of the components are what were on the car from the factory. It is powered by a 430CI MEL engine that runs very strong. It is paired with the original Automatic transmission which moves through the gears with ease. Being a luxury car you can bet it is fully loaded with Power Brakes, Power Steering, Air Conditioning (dealer installed option), Power Windows, and Power Seats all of which are working properly. The Interior is in excellent shape and shows a little wear for the age. All of the original dash components are present including the original radio. This is an exceptional driver-quality original non molestedsurvivor sedan with very nice curb appeal and sensational performance. Even though it could use a few finishing touches to become show car.
This is one cool classic and these Continentals are very sought after cars. This is a very clean low mileage example. Well maintained and receivednew Tune Up, Oil Change, Water Pump, Timing Chain, Brake Shoe, Brake Cylinders, and New Battery. This Continental runs phenomenal andhas nice acceleration, impressive handling and just a great overall feel on the open roadIt is nicely equipped for modern daily driving around town and with very nice curb appeal.
CLEAR WA STATE TITLE IN MY NAME. Happy motoring everyone.
