1993 Lexus LS400 NO RESERVE
1993 Lexus LS
Up for bid is my 1993 Lexus LS400. This car is my daily driver out of the few cars we have but I am downsizing and going to sell a couple of our cars. I want to start of first by saying that I love these LS400's, there is just nothing else out there on the road like them. This is the second one I have had and I am going to miss it dearly. They say that these are the most reliable and well built cars ever made and I will agree with that because these cars are known to go 500k+ miles and there is a couple floating around out there with around a million miles on them (look up Matt Farah's million mile Lexus). My LS400 has a clean title & clean CarFax, it does have 242k miles on it but it's a Lexus and one of the best ones ever built so its barely even broke in, it runs & drives perfect. This car looks like it has maybe 42k miles on it inside & out, it's honestly unbelievable. This car came with every possible option for 1993 and it's kind of a rare color combo from what I have found with the Dark Blue exterior with the Blue leather interior.
The interior is in immaculate shape and I mean that. The leather isn't worn at all, a matter of fact it barely looks like it has even been set in. The carpet isn't worn, faded, stained at all. It looks like it's pretty much brand new, even the mats aren't worn and almost look like you just put them in the car. All of the interior is in amazing shape and everything works perfect. The pictures will speak for themselves. All of the power equipment works like it should including the sunroof, power seats, heated seats, power headrests, power adjustable seat belts, power tilt/telescoping steering wheel, power mirrors, power locks, cruise control, digital climate control, Lexus Cell Phone, power antenna, radio, CD changer, etc. The only thing I can point out which is known issue on these cars but a easy & cheap fix right here on eBay is the rpm gauge has it's days where it only works sometimes but even if it isn't working you can barely tap the dash and it works perfect. I will give the interior a 9.5/10, it probably deserves a 10 of out 10.
The exterior is in almost the same amazing shape as the interior. There is no rust, paint fade, major scratches, dings, dents, etc. It has a minor scratch here or there but you can't really see them unless your looking for them and someone that knew how to do a professional 2 or 3 stage buff or make this car perfect. I'm very picky keep in mind as well but I like to disclose everything to the best of my knowledge. All of the badging and chrome trim is in very good shape and isn't pitting or falling off the car. The wheels on this car are even is almost perfect shape with no curb rash, pitting or peeling of the paint, they shine almost like the paint on the car does. I will note that this Lexus has been painted at some point in the past but I don't know when exactly but I have seen quite a few paint jobs and this one looks as good as what would have came off the factory line. I don't know why it was painted but I do know that it was garage kept by the previous owner but judging off the rest of the car including the interior and the way that it runs & drives. I think it would be hard to find a cleaner one unless you got one with extremely low mileage that you are going to have to pay a fortune for.
The mechanics of this Lexus seem to be in really good shape as it runs & drives perfect and it has some decent service history that I know of and I have had it checked out and it checks out in good shape. These LS400s drive like nothing else, the float down the road absorbing every bump or defect in the road like it's not even there. It drives as straight and can be and doesn't pull or anything at all. You can take your hand off the wheel and it just cruises right down the road no problems. There isn't any suspension problems or noises of any kind. The engine has plenty of power, doesn't use oil or smoke at all. The transmission shifts perfect and doesn't miss a beat. There is one thing I will note about the mechanical side of things, the a/c works and blows pretty cold but not as cold as my other cars so I don't know if it's just low on freon or what the deal is honestly. It has always been that way and it cools the car off just fine even when it 85+ outside but it's just something that I have noticed and wanted to be noted. All four of the tires are in good shape with probably 50-60% trad on them, maybe a little more. There are no other issues at all.
I love these LS400's especially the first generation ones like this one but I also like to have some of the technology from today so I have added a couple of things to the car. I have had a remote start system put on the car along with a new keyless entry system because the factory keyless entry wouldn't work unless you were like 5 feet from the vehicle which is just due to the age of when those systems were first coming out. I also added a touch screen double din radio with bluetooth to give the interior a little bit more modern look but more importantly to be able to have bluetooth for calling and music. I have the factory radio with cassette that will come with the car and I know it's the premium radio and audio but I can't remember the name of it off the top of my head. All of the speakers are factory in the car but they work fantastic and it sounds better then a lot of cars of today.
This car was hand built and I think all of the LS400s were and the quality shows in how well they hold up all the way around. This car was $58,900 new which is a lot of money even today but I understand why they were so much. I am going to start the auction at $2000 no reserve and whoever is the highest bidder will get the car and will be getting a really clean and well taken care of Lexus that will last for years to come.
Here is the link to additional pictures. I have about 60 pictures that I took of the car. You have to copy & paste the link in your browser to make it work.

In 1993, the Lexus LS 400 underwent the first significant revisions since its arrival in 1990. Larger brakes and tires were capped with new alloy wheels, and the exterior styling and trim received a slight facelift. The most noticeable exterior changes were different side moldings and a new grille. A passenger airbag and CFC-free air conditioning system were also new. After enduring years of critical feedback regarding bland road manners, Lexus responded with suspension and power steering adjustments aimed to bolster the LS 400's performance.
The same 4.0 liter V-8 returned in 1993. This 32-valve DOHC engine provided the LS with 250 horsepower and 260 pound feet of torque. The 0-60 mph time still remained around eight seconds, and the quarter mile was reached in 16. Improved brakes steadily slowed the LS from 60 mph to a stop in just 120 feet. Many drivers and road testers did still not regard the LS as fun to drive, despite more responsive steering and the new option of a more road-aware suspension. The LS 400 remained a smooth and steady cruiser, just as it was designed to be. "Riding on a cloud" metaphors were frequently employed to describe the car's relationship with the road.
Base price (and resale value) continued to gradually rise, but value in class still remained unquestioned. Many felt that the 18/23 mpg fuel efficiency was low, but certainly understandable for such a large and powerful sedan. By now, locating and buying parts for the first generation LS has become a bit of a struggle.
