This truck was purchased in person for me in Italy by a good friend. The truck was inspected on-site and deemed to be very clean and well maintained.
These were our findings at the time of purchase: very good color change from white to EPSOM green (Land Rover Color/ Dark Green Metallic). The frame on this truck was stunning. It looked like it had been soft media blasted and completely preserved in high quality black paint. There was NO sign of RUST on the frame! The underside of this truck was (is) superb. The cab interior was also color matched. The top remained white and contrasts the green very well. Engine and drive train was all functional and clean.
The truck was purchased in January of 2018 and imported into the USA in June of 2019. I registered the truck in my home State of Connecticut. It is currently road legal and insured and I drive it several times a week. It is my hobby truck and mileage may go up a bit during this auction :)
During my ownership I have done extensive maintenance on the truck. Full new steering components (tie rod ends with steering rods, steering arm couplers, new power steering pump and hoses, fresh rebuild power steering box, new clutch kit, all new drive shafts, differential seals, new shifter turret and gaiter/ rubber cover, new middle exhaust, fresh air intake upgrade for more performance, new seat covers), using mostly OE parts. I also installed a new factory NAS spec bush guard.
This Defender is set up for comfortable road use. It has 2018 Copper M+S tires with approximately 200 miles. Tire noise and vibrations are minimal, these trucks are noisy already. The truck will be delivered with a matching alloy wheel with a brand new matching spare tire, and new center caps are on order. There are no rear seats but these can be added by buyer. I have the cab guard if the buyer wishes to install it if they want to keep dogs in the back. As shown in the picture the rear side glass is frosted as is commonly done in Europe so that the vehicle qualifies as a "commercial" vehicle to lower road tax.
It is a turn key truck that can be driven to the farm, tow your horse trailer, take it to the golf course, have it as a summer/ beach truck, or build it up as a beasty off roader. There are so many accessories available to customize it to your liking. My intention was to have it as a comfortable street truck that a lady could drive as weekend toy. It is a great base for any build and you will not have to worry about having to deal with the frame, body, or mechanicals. Great for any competent DIY'er to customize to his/her liking. Disclosure:
There is no Title currently for this truck as Connecticut does NOT issue Titles for vehicle over 25 years. The Registration is transferable to any State or for Export. Depending on your State a new Title maybe issued with my Registration and a Bill of Sale.
