1959 Land Rover 109 Station Wagon NO RESERVE!
1959 Land Rover SIIA 109 Station Wagon
A 1959 Land Rover Series 2a 109 4x4 Station Wagon. An opportunity to own and restore a very early and rare model. Tan with a grey interior. Just came out of a long term ownership. Showing 77K miles on the odometer. The last time it was registered and on the road was 1988. The aluminum body is very straight. The original interior is all there. It has some rust on the frame as you can see in the pictures. The engine is not running but it turns over freely by hand.Series II 109-inch Station Wagon (1959-1961)
"The Station Wagon version of the Series II 109-inch Land Rover did not appear until September 1958, as a 1959 model. Demand for long-wheelbase Station Wagons was met by the last 107-inch (Series I) types in the five months after the introduction of the other Series II models. The Series II 109 Station Wagon always came as a 10 or 12-seater, with six forward-facing seats and two "occasional" bench seats facing inwards in the rear, where it was just about possible to carry six further people. Paint colors were the same as for the 109-inch utilities, less the Poppy Red used on fire engines. There were 7,579 Series II 109-inch Station Wagons, of which only 276 had diesel engines"
An unrestored beauty, very original, deserves to be brought back to glory.
