1971 Lancia 2000

This vehicle was imported from Italy by a gentleman in Chicago who sold the car to me. I have had the headlight and windshield wiper switches repaired and the car tuned, Radiator hoses recently replaced with high quality tubing, all by a local Lancia/Alfa specialist. This Lancia is a pleasant drive, with a flat-four burble, an easy clutch, and an interesting dogleg 5spd which has a meaty shifter and good positive action. The short first gear and direct throws from 2-3, and 4-5 make this car a nice drive. It tracks straight and the brakes have good light feel. Though it has similar upright proportions (great visibility) to an Alfa Berlina or Fiat 124, It is surprisingly bigger than those, closer to the size of a fin tail Mercedes of the same period. This was a large car on 1970's Italian roads, but it is also surprisingly sporty, in spite of its nose-heaviness, because the motor and transmission are so lovely. Maybe you saw Nikki Lauda drive one in Ron Howard's '70's F1 film Rush. Color is "Lancia Blue", color code LA 27. It is very difficult to distinguish the blue from a black unless seen in the sunlight. It is a very dark navy blue, paint is in good shape. The car is not immaculate, shows some signs of age and wear, floors are covered with rubber mats, not carpet, but ventilator and heat all work. The A/C in inoperative. There is a new air handler in the trunk but I think that the problem is the compressor but I haven't really had it looked at. The driver's seat has a tear in it, other seats seem to be intact . the car will be sold with a bill of sale but no title; NY state does not title cars of this age. car is located in Scarsdale New York, come see and drive it.
