DESCRIPTION

This is most likely the only Lancia K in the US at this time. It features. The Lancia K (kappa) debuted at the end of 1994 and was produced until 2000 in the Lancia factory in Rivalta, Italy. The cars were originally designed by Ercole Spada, IDEA Institute and Centro Stile Lancia.

This 1995 Lancia K was legally imported to the US from Italy in December 2021. It has a clean Arizona title.
The car is finished in metallic Blue Madras with Blue Alcantara interior. Its 2.0 liter 20V inline 5-cyl engine sends power to the front wheels through a five-speed manual gearbox.

This Lancia is in great conditions. It has been very well maintaned and garaged all its life.

EXTERIOR

The car paint is overall in very good condition. The paint is believed to be original on all panels. According to the paint meter the front passenger fender appears to have been resprayed at some point.
Being 28 y.o. the paint has some minor imperfections, dings, scratches and scuffs.

We have tried to photograph it as best as we could. Most imperfections on paint/body are shown on the photographs.

The driver's door has a coup[le of dents and scratches.

All trim sections are present.
No major dents or major rips in the front and rear bumper other than the regular wear you would expect from a 25+old car.

The front bumper has some scratches on side corners (see photos)
The Lancia front grille and logo are in excellent shape

Chassis and wheel wells are all rust free and still wear the factory paint and undercoating. A very good thing to note is that late production Lancia do not usually suffer from the major rust problems as much of their ancestors, as their frames are galvanized.

The undercarriage is in great shape. No abnormal tar or oil traces.

The roof is clean and in great shape. All glass is original Lancia Stamped OEM and it is in good shape. There are some micro sized chips on the windshield that do not bother the viewing area. The windshield sides have minor bubbles on the sides due to age. They do not affect functionality. rear window is in good shape. however we want to mention that is has some type of residue on a small area on the top. Not sure what it is.

This car is 28 years old. Please have reasonable expectations.

INTERIOR

The car interior is in great shape for the age and mileage. It is elegant, sober and streamlined interior, reminiscent of a simpler motoring era. It has a spacious and uniquely Italian interior. The seating position is extremely comfortable and overall very pleasant.

All components inside are present, nothing appear to be missing. All controls and switches are individually tested and are all in working order.

The dashboard has no cracks and/or dings. Cluster lights are working correctly but I believe some lights are not turning on all the time on the main center display. Glove box is lit and it is clean and it closes perfectly.

Horn, turn signals, headlights, parking lights, high beams, wipers work.

A/C and heat work.

This Lancia K features a blue Alcantara interior. All seats are in greast cosmetic and working condition, free of rips and tears and they all have been professionally vacuumed, dry cleaned with specific car upholstery cleaning products and plastic covered for extra protection until delivery. The alcantara is in great shape pretty much everywhere. There is slightly more wear on the driver's seat.

The carpeted floor has been completely washed, dried and detailed to look as new as possible It is covered with plastic protector until the car gets delivered. Headliner is clean and in good shape.

Steering wheel is in very good shape. Alpine radio works and sounds appear to come form all speakers correctly.

All door panels are in great shape for the age. Ther front driver door panel has a crack on it (see pictures) Unfortunately it is a crack that developed in most of the Lancia K driver's door. No other major cracks no tears, major rips, on any of the other panels. All panels and door jams have been cleaned and detailed.

The rear center air console has some scuffing (see photos)

All power windows, central lock (most of the time, note) front courtesy lights, fan, heating, wipers options work.
Interior, door side, rear trunk and glove box lights both work.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power comes from the 2.0L 20V fuel injected famous and reliable 5-cylinder Fiat Lancia group engine.
Although 145 HP might not sound like much by today's standards, the car performs well and the longer gears on the comfort drive models makes it extremely smooth while accelerating. This car was not born for lightning fast accelaration, instead it will get to speed smoothly and steadily.

This Lancia K has great handling and great vehicle dynamics and it is very pleasant to drive at relaxing speeds.

Engine starts normally and idling speed is correct and stable. The car accelerates smoothly. There are no engine knocks or hesitation of any sort. The 5-speed manual transmission shifts gears perfectly and still has that Lancia buttery feeling. Clutch pedal is smooth. Reverse engages without hitches. No major nor front or rear noises at all.
The engine compartment has been cleaned and it shows no major signs of missing or displaced parts, just regular wear and tear.

The car gets into operating temperature correctly, radiator fan engages at the right temperature.

According to the previous ownerand sticker on the engine bay the timing belt/water pump service was performed in 2016 at 53,000 kms.

The car was serviced here in the US while under our ownership.

Work performed in the US - February 2023 include:

• Replaced both front H7 OSRAM headlight bulbs
• New oil Full synthetic Castrol GTX 10W40 and new oil filter
• New air filter
• New fuel filter and check of fuel lines
• New rear trunk lid struts
• New front brake lines
• New cabin filter
• Inspected front and rear brakes
• Inspected and refilled A/C circuit
• New battery (August 2022)
• New accessory belt

OTHER KNOWN MAINTENANCE

9/2020 - Replaced oil and filter, air filter, cabin filter, replaced all 4 tires

6/2020 - Oil and filter change, replaced spark plugs

2019 - Replaced muffler and replaced thermostat

3/2016 - Replaced timing belt and water pump

WHEELS, TIRES & BRAKES

Stock tire sizes are 195/65 on 15 inch genuine Lancia 8-hole alloy rims. The rims are in good shape, however one wheel has clearcoat cracking and the other wheels have a few dings (see photos)

All 4 tires have very good thread allover. All 4 tires have a manufacture date of 2019. All tires have been inflated at 35 psi.

This Lancia K has independent brake circuits with servo assistance that incorporate the front discs and rear discs.

Original compact size spare tire and jack in the trunk. Temporary spare has been inflated to 55 psi.

WHAT'S NOT 100%

We have owned this car for a while and took pleasure in slowly fixing and updating what we wanted. Car runs very well, however we have are sharing and disclosing the following known flaws: (Most of these flaws have already been mentioned in the detailed description above)

Check engine light has been disconnected/blacked out and there is the generic engine malfunction message on the display at startup that disappears after a few seconds. This is related to the disabling of the Lancia CODE security ignition code. Those were the first years of electronic anti theft Fiat Lancia group system and many were not exactly reliable. Many owners made bypass solutions so this system would not give false readings and interfere with the ignition sequence of the car. We were able to connect and run the FIAT LANCIA ecu code reader and software and all parameters appear normal. The only message is the generic ECU error code in connection with the elimination of the ignition security system. The center panel display will show a message "avaria centralina motore" for a few seconds at every start and then disappears.

We spoke extensively with the last owner and he has strongly suggested to just let it be as it has never had any issue with it for the whole time of his ownership.

The airbag has been disconnected by the previous owner.

There is a crack in the driver's door panel.

A few minor chips on windshield. Not affecting overall visual

Central lock does not always perform at 100%. One of the electric actuators might need refurbishment or replacement in the near future due to age.

Infrared door closing system has been disabled by the previous owner.

A/C has been serviced and refilled, it works correctly and blows cold at the time of this listing. However ourr mechanic has informed us that there is a small leak in the circuit.

Alloy wheels have imperfections and chips. Clear coat is cracking on front right wheel.

PARTS, MAINTENANCE, AND DRIVING EXPERIENCE

The driving experience on this Lancia K truly is excellent. With its relatively low to the ground seating position and a moderately soft ride it is a real pleasure to drive on all kinds of roads. The K has always been widely praised for its handling and extremely comfortable ride.

Maintenance on this Lancia K is relatively simple and intuitive. There are not too many complicated electronics parts. Parts are very reasonably priced and can be easily found online. France, Germany, Poland and Italy are usually the best countries to sources for parts. . With the sale you will receive a series of PDFs manuals, maintenance books, technical articles and service books that will help the new owner with virtually anything maintenance related.
