1992 Jeep Wrangler Renegade YJ - 6 Cylinder
1992 Jeep Wrangler
About the Renegade. There are google articles to scan but here is a summary. The Renegade was not very popular when launched, primarily as the extra $4000 was all cosmetic. Did nothing to enhance the drivetrain. Plus, the wider fenders were not appreciated by off roaders. But, as time has passed, the Renegade now has a cult following and I actually prefer the wide fenders especially as I am not an off roader. I guess you could remove them. And, of course, if you ask for any additional pictures and/or details I will quickly provide. It's in really good condition. All gauges work, all lights work, horn, back rear wiper, front wiper, fog lights, brakes good including emergency brake, 4 wheel drive engages and displays on the gauge cluster correctly. Does not smoke.Things to note:It has been lifted, see pics, but properly and professionally lifted before I bought it.New Exhaust, see picsPaint is good, some fading. Like I said I wax it 2 times a year but Arizona sun is brutal. So, some fading but it's a 1992 and the paint is surprisingly pretty good. I made sure to keep the paint as nice as could be expected.Newer Renegade decals that were slightly larger than the original font, which I liked better. The letters are starting to crack as bit. They look decent and if you are going to really get the Jeep in pristine condition then you would buy new decals. If you really were doing a full restore, then repaint before the decals. For me I was very satisfied with the paint the the decals are around 5 years old and were good enough shape for me.Engine runs smooth. No smoke and no valve tap. With the large wheels and lift, you will never spin wheels and the highest speed I ever pushed it was 65mph. Could it do more, I preferred not to try.Hard top, fiberglass of course, in good shape, no cracks, leaks, and glass is good and tinted. All glass is in good shape and the side small windows do open nicely.Yes, it's air conditioned. Of course I never use it but I did recharge it 4 years ago. It should probably be recharged again.I did replace the blower motor on the AC/heat so all 3 speeds workGears shift nicely, no issue.Has an oil pan cover to protect it during off roading, Got it like this and I do not off road so no damage to it.Tires are good with very good tread BUT I believe 3 of them are 6 years old so some say to replace tires over 5 years old. So, perhaps you should. Spare is definitely average for emergency use only. What's needing attentionThe passenger door you have to lock from the inside. You can unlock from the outside but can only lock from the inside. I could have pulled the inner door skin apart to figure it out but it never bothered me as I seldom use it with any passenger.A few places where the paint has clipped off. On the drivers front fender there is a chip. But the primer is still there so some touch up black paint would cover it up if you wanted to do that. The radio speakers are actually not good at all. They work but the fidelity was never good. I was considering a sound bar but when you ride a Jeep music really is not the priorityThe radio is also average. Not great, not expensive, after market and came with the Jeep when I bought itFront driver's seat, the seat cushion has some tearing which could be stitchedI think it's worth more than $5500 but why be greedy. If it hits or goes beyond $7500 I have a soft top I will throw in.I did, recently sell a VW bug and the buyer gave me good feedback which I think you can view in the feedback section. I am selling cars and will be listing other stuff as it's overdue that I downsize, bummer getting old (older)
