1968 Jeep Wagoneer Special Order

Vehicle Details

This 1968 Jeep Wagoneer is For Sale by the 2nd owner, the original family owned the vehicle for over 50 years and we purchased this from Mecum Auctions in 2019.This is the Special Order J-100 4-Wheel drive model, Rare 1414X code, with the very limited and rare center console, automatic transmission and bucket seats. Original numbers matching Buick 350 Dauntless motor was rebuilt in 1986, improved with an RV camshaft and upgraded to run on Unleaded fuel.

Ivory white exterior with a rich red interior. **All original headliner, dashboard, door panels and steering wheel.*** Repainted in 1989. Both rear quarter panels have been replaced.Right rear door and quarter are scraped from where Dad pulled it into garage 2 years ago, see pictures.

An Add a Leaf raised suspension kit was installed in 1991, giving this Jeep a higher stance, in 2004 this exhaust system was overhauled and Flowmaster installed. The bucket seats, console armrest and rear seat were re upholstered in 2013. Brake, master cylinder replaced 2018. New Radiator, overflow tank, shroud and fan 2021. New alternator 2022. Recently replaced old Holley aftemarket carburetor with brand new original 2bbl Rochester, as it should be. My dad also had Dan’s driveline service both front and rear differentials and Transfer case recently.

We have put Approximately 1500 miles on this Jeep since buying it from the original owner in 2019. Current mileage is 66,467. Comes with the original bill of sale and all records. This vehicle has been garage kept since 1968, and rarely driven, and the original owner worked hard to keep this Jeep pristine for decades.

Only a few original parts are no longer with her. Electric rear windshield motor has been replaced with a manual crank. All original glass throughout the vehicle except for that rear window, Original clock(hard to find) has been replaced with gauges on center console. Transmission cooler installed. Original aftermarket stereo replaced with modern Cd player with bluetooth and 4 Kicker speakers in the original door holes (2022). Windshield wiper motor is operational but can but intermittent, very minor inexpensive fix. Very minor rust can be seen on the door panels, which is to be expected for a vehicle this old. Comes with some extra parts we havent installed yet, complete tune up set, motor mounts, transmission mount, new fuel stems from body to tank, etc etc.

My father bought this as a retirement vehicle and just doesn’t drive this as much as he thought he would, and he thinks it's time for someone else to enjoy this amazing Jeep. The original owners spent 50 years taking care of this baby, and we have preserved her for the 3rd owner, I hope it’s you. You’ll be hard pressed to find another Jeep of this model, with these low miles in this condition. Thanks for your time and happy Jeeping!
