1979 Jeep CJ5 Renegade

This is an original 1979 CJ5 Renegade with the 304 ci engine and 3 speed manual. Color is Ensign Blue. It is a very cool vehicle, and there aren't many in this color with this engine. But it’s far from perfect and needs some work. It currently starts but will not run for more than a few seconds. I believe it needs new fuel lines. There are a few dings and a dent as pictured and some surface rust, but it’s very solid overall. I believe the paint and decals are original, though I can't be 100% certain. I purchased in 2020, and drove it around quite a bit until about 9 months ago. The water pump went out. Finally replaced it and started it. Fuel is not getting to the carb it appears. (Carb was rebuilt in 2020).I hate to sell it, but I’m not as mechanically inclined as necessary and just don’t have the time she deserves. Odometer doesn’t have the first digit and is likely 112k+ but reads 12,xxx. Speedometer and tach work. Fuel gage does not.Transfer case work great — goes into 2wd, 4-high, 4-low and neutral without issue. Shifts through the gears and reverse with no issues. Power steering works. Power brakes worked when parked. It stopped ok but likely needs new front brake pads for the front disc brakes. Runs straight down the road with typical CJ handling. The only major rust area it had was the front floors. Had those professionally replaced. It’s bare metal and there’s a little surface rust on those now. The rear seat area has some issues but is still solid. Otherwise the frame and body appear to be in great shape. See photos of the frame -- those are very representative of what the whole frame looks like. Turn signals and brake lights worked a year ago — haven’t check them lately. The headlight switch is missing and I never got around to replacing it.It is a very original Renegade. Had a roll cage, but had it cut out when the floors were replaced. Windshield is cracked and a little foggy, but it good enough to drive it. BFG All-Terrain tires have good tread and hold air.Comes with an aftermarket denim bikini top. I have a very old and probably unusable kayline denim top. The denim doors are still ok (see pictures). Have a maybe usable kayline black top and doors. Also have an OEM whitco frame and hardware and a set of tan whitco doors from a ‘78. Can be flat towed a few miles in a pinch. It’s a great CJ that get looks and comments every time I take it out despite its flaws. Looks amazing from 20 feet. But again, it will need some time put into it to make it run like it can. I have done my best to be very clear about exactly what this is and its condition. $500 non refundable deposit due when auction ends.I accept paypal, venmo or zelle. Any other methods must clear bank deposit hold. This is the first vehicle I've sold on ebay, but I have great feedback overall going back 20 years.I can help load it but otherwise transportation is the responsibility of the buyer. Thanks for looking and let me know if you have any questions.
