1986 Jeep CJ Laredo

I purchased this 1986 Jeep CJ7 Laredo in Jan of this year from King Corvette in Alabama. They specialize in vintage CJ's and Corvettes. I also purchased from them a 1982 CJ7 Limited. I wanted to have both side by side to decide which one was the keeper for me. I've decided so it's time to find this spectacular Laredo CJ7 a new home.
First, the history. The original owner of this Jeep was out of Colorado and towed this behind their motorhome. In fact, that is where many of the 80,029 original miles came from. The second owner was also out of Colorado and when he purchased it from a Jeep dealer in Denver he decided to restore the Jeep to new condition. The restoration took place in 2013 at 77,500 miles. Below are his words regarding the restoration.
"When i got it, i had it completely taken apart, repainted and drivetrain rebuilt, the engine wassent off to spitfire engine in Denver and it was torn down and rebuilt with all new components, engine runs great, the transmission andtransfer case were gone thru and new clutch, the jeep drives and shifts great, it has the factory dana 44 rear, it has new bearings, sealsand spider gears installed, the front is the dana 30, resealed, new brake rotors, brakes, bearings, new brake lines, 2.5 lift... has 3.31 gears."
The third owner out of Florida purchased this Jeep in 2016 with 77,560 miles on it. Only 50-60 miles after the restoration. Garage kept during his little over 4 year ownership this Jeep CJ7 would see only 1,600 miles before being sold to it's 4th owner.
The fourth owner out of South Carolina purchased it in late 2020 with 79,130 miles on the clock, kept it for several months, drove it 20 miles, and decided the Jeep was too nice to become a dog hauler so over the next year he would have it for sale changing his mind a few times listing it and taking it down before a collector out of Texas would ultimately purchase it in early 2022 with 79,694 miles on it.
The 5th owner out of Houston, TX would not drive the Jeep but a few miles as it was part of a jeep collection. This owner would ultimately sell the Jeep to King Corvette's in Alabama where they listed it for sale. This is where I purchased it from with 79,731 miles on the clock.
The miles are original and this is without a doubt one of the nicest Laredo's on the road.
Second,
In the photos you will see pictures of the CARFAX stating no accidents or damage with 79,694 miles being listed as the last reading. A copy will be provided with the sale. Additionally you will see the ad's by the second and fourth owner.
Thrid,
I have put 298 miles on this CJ7 and it runs, drives, and tracks perfect. It's a real head turner like my slate blue limited and in the few days i've driven it I got many thumbs up and compliments at the gas station. This Jeep has the Nutter ignition bypass and Holly sniper fuel injection so it starts and runs smoothly. I wanted this because I love the CJ's and with this being the LAST of the breed so to speak a really nice 86 Laredo is sought after. I would love to keep it but I don't need two CJ's. I'll never drive it and as I suspect this Jeep has spent the last 10 years of it's life with previous owners staring at it in the garage it needs to be enjoyed and driven. Jeeps this nice come around once in a while as low original mileage for it's age, period correct and not "Customized" so to speak. It's like being in a 1986 time capsule. Below are the links to the AD I purchased it from 6 weeks ago so it's EXACTLY as it is in both the video and ad from King. It has many detailed photos of the underbody, engine, and interior. The video is great too be sure to check them out! I have the title in hand. Ask me any questions and Good Luck to both of us!
