1969 Jeep Commando Jeepster

Vehicle Details

This is an all original survivor, Deluxe Wagon version of the Kaiser Jeepster Commando in great condition. Looks and runs great for its age. No rust, and straight panels. This particular vehicle is from Columbia, South America and was purchased directly from a U.S. importer of rare, hard to find, 4WD vehicles. The speedo is in KM, but equates to only 21,000 actual miles. The interior is 100% all original, with no rips or stains on the seats, and the original “art-deco” Jeep logo’d shifters. The exterior and interior of this vehicle have held up remarkably well for their age. The original 4 cylinder (“Hurricane”) engine produces 75 HP and 114 ft lb’s of torque. The transmission shifts smoothly and is 4WD equipped. Paint condition is fair to good. New tires were recently installed. The top is supposedly removeable. The Deluxe version of the Wagon (which this is) includes sliding rear windows and full interior trim.

This vehicle was designed to compete with early Ford Broncos, Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40’s and International Scouts, but is much rarer and harder to find then any of those. A total of only 57,530 Kaiser Spec “C101” Jeepster Commandos were sold between 1966 and 1971. Body styles included convertible, pick-up, Wagon, and Deluxe Wagon.

This vehicle would be perfect “as it stands” at the beach or in a resort community. Way cooler, and lots more style then any beach community golf-cart! Alternatively, it could be modernized with a bigger drive train, wheels and tires and turned into a truly classic, rare, daily driver.
