1985 Jeep CJ JEEP CJ7 Full Preservation with Part Restoration

Selling 1985 Jeep CJ7. Unlike most CJ this one has not been cut up over the years or molested of it's original parts. Not 100 percent original but still very original in many ways. No aftermarket MODS made to the running gear, suspension, brakes or steering. It's like they sold them to be back in 85. In my opinion as a 47 year Jeep CJ owner, driver, mechanic that worked for Jeep when they sold CJ new. it's getting very hard today to find a CJ in this type of original conduction 37 years later. * Auto checker reports this CJ to have a clean history (No issues reported) All green checkmarks. No damage history - No title or Vin issues - No odometer issues = That's rare for any vehicle 30 plus years old. The original Odometer even still work's in this CJ today. The odo reads 260300 miles at this time. Yes the original body and frame (both in very nice conduction) have that mileage on them. All other items have been rebuilt, repaired, replaced as needed with CJ correct parts and it runs and drives great. The Vin decodes as 1 = USA J = Jeep C = MPV C = 258 4.2 inline 6 F = Manual transmission 87 = Model CJ7 E =4150 GVW 3 # F = year 1985 T = Built Toledo Last 6 SSN = 016436. Now trim tag decode Top line of tag. Jeep Corporation Next line = Order number J191678 87 = CJ7. Next line 06 = Paint gun used or person that painted. - NOTE to the number 06. You will see a check mark with number 06 under the hood. I believe that was the factory inspector check mark after paint inspected. Like i said Jeep is not 100 percent original ( But it sure retains a lot of it's originality ) . Paint code 3B = Sebring red 1EB = High back black bucket seats. * This Jeep has a 4.2 motor, Jeep 5 speed manual transmission optio, Dana 300 transfer case, Jeep amc 20 rear end, Jeep Dana 30 front end. ( This is the way Jeep sold them in 1985 ) I have 130 labor hours invested in this CJ. I did not paint any of the RED PAINT COLOR of this CJ Only painted the hard top and body trim in black. This CJ was a third car and sat in the sun outside. Was driven about 3000 miles in the past 4 years SEE PHOTOS of how paint looked when i picked it up. I posted a few BEFORE and AFTER photos to listing. It took 30 hours just to color sand the paint, cut and buff. Re color sand cut & buff. then buff and wax to bring the paint back to life. It came out nice and was able to bring the old faded paint back to life. A lot of the body paint on this CJ was still original to this Jeep ( I saved it ). Jeep did have a part repaint years ago. looks like hood replaced years ago and hood area and upper fender painted at that time. I cover body & paint in detail in the VIDEO. ( SEE VIDEO for more details - get close up look at everything ) BUYERS = I did a long detailed VIDEO of ( body walk around and paint ) also VIDEO of under the hood. I cover the inside of Jeep and also ( drive it around town and on the highway) to show buyers that it drives, stops, runs, shifts and handles nice. This is a very nice CJ overall and many of the little things work on this CJ. A lot of repairs made, parts re placed as needed to make it the CJ it is today. Bottom side cleaned and detailed = look's nice.
