1964 Jeep CJ
This 1964 Model M38A1 Jeep came on the heels of the M38 model which mirrored the World War II jeep but had somewhat of a more updated profile. This is the military version of the retail model CJ-5 albeit with numerous military upgrades. Kaiser motors built the M38A1 model for the Marine Corp from 1960 through 1967. This Jeep has a September, 1964 date of delivery. Restored in correct Marine Corp paint theme. Drive train is a Willy's Hurricane straight 4 cylinder F-head engine with manual transmission. This Jeep has SN39 command radio in a CY-731 waterproof cabinet at the rear of the Jeep that can be removed for additional seating. This example starts freely and runs great. This example was masterly restored in the recent past . The body is super clean and straight. The paint is professionally done and looks great. A fun Jeep to drive it will top out at about 60-65 miles per hour so it will get you around quite nicely. You will surely stand out in a crowd.
