Description:

1986 Jeep CJ

Highest Bid over starting price wins this very nice CJ-7. Really needs to be seen to believe the condition. Please look at the photos closely...

This is a great opportunity if you have been looking for one of these hard to find original Jeep CJ’s with no spray-on bed liner. This for me this is a real Survivor with quite low miles (71K) and has been stored indoors almost all its life.It has been a pleasure vehicle and family owned all but about 3 years. The Jeep was owned by an older gentleman and he took loving care of it.

This Jeep CJ-7 is the most desired of the model years (’86) as it is the last of the CJ Series. This one has what I feel are important FACTORY options… 6-Cylinder 4.2 liter Engine, 5-Speed Manual Transmission w/ Overdrive, Power Steering, Tilt Wheel, Hard Top & Hard Doors, Chrome Wheels, Body Side Steps,Convenience Group and Full Carpet. It also has a nice Aftermarket Option… a Custom Heavy Duty Steel rear step bumper w/ Reese Trailer Hitch & trailer harness. I added the original AMC Jeep chrome Laredo Grill, Jeep front chrome bumper and Stainless aftermarket Mirrors which I feel really makes this Jeep look great.

The Jeep runs and idles very smooth, is untouched and stock in the engine compartment. Carb, radiator as well as most of the hoses & even hose clamps are still original.Hasa new Dist. Cap & Rotor, plug wires, engine oil, new carb rebuild kit and all new filters. Also has newAlternator, fuel pump and a H.D. Battery. Emissions hoses etc. are still in place & still has the Catalytic Converter. Muffler and tailpipe was replaced by the previous owner. There have been no leaks on the floor since my ownership.

The 5-Speed Manual Transmission shifts very good… incredibly smooth, tight and solid. This Jeep is also equipped with a factory optional 3:31 to 1axleratio.This is amuch desiredoptionas it really helps the drivability of the Jeep as you can better utilize the 5thoverdrive transmission gear. It drives nicely down the road.

The Interior in this Jeep is extremely nice as you can see in the photos. No cracks or damage at all on the original seats. The factory front high-backs are up optioned with “CJ” embossed on the headrests. Rear is fold & tumble style which allows some storage in back. Has the original steering wheel & horn button. Original Full Carpet is in great shape. Door panels have no damage at all. No cracks on the original dash. I believe the Jeep spent the majority of its life with the hard top on so direct sun exposure to the interior was minimal. The top of the roll bar still has the factory center rubber cushion in place and also has the rear hatch closure while driving warning label on the interior glass. This Jeep was also never smoked in as the ashtray and cigarette lighter have never been used. All original gauges are functional. Jeep AM / FM Radio works great. I believe it was later added as the antenna is aftermarket and not located in the typical stock position (but close).

The body has no dents or dings and almost no visible rust. Most of what is there can be seen in the pictures. It has the Factory Optional Sterling Metallic Paint which is not bad condition at all for a 34 year old vehicle but it hasn’t had much sun exposure in the garage. I believe most of the paint is original but is hard to tell… could have had a touch up. The hard top was re-painted by the previous owner.

The Frame is very nice and solid. I tried to take some pictures underneath and would look much better if just blacked out again as it has not been touched. The Jeep still has all 4 original shocks on it.I did replace the fuel tank with an OEM Quality Aftermarket Tank as is obvious it has spent many years sitting. Brakes stop fine but are probably due for flush & new fluid rotation. Tires have good tread but I don’t know their age… plenty of tread and still feel soft. The Factory Chrome wheels are bright and are in very nice shape. The hard doors both close really nice and smooth and don’t have to be slammed to shut. They still have the original weather-strips and outer window sill rubber still in good condition.

I have the original Window Sticker, original owner’s manual & paperwork that will be included. It still has the original key set and several spares. I will also include the car cover used while in storage.

This Jeep is a true classic and is so nice & original… gets tons of compliments and a true flash from the past. Low mileage Jeeps in this condition are a real investment if kept in this condition and area blast to drive when the top is off. I’ve had very little time to drive this Jeep which is another reason for selling it.

I’ve done my best to describe the condition of this Jeep and it would be best for the purchaser to see it for themselves. I can provide more pictures if requested. I will respond to any questions or I can be reached in evenings at 317, 576-481 two. Leave a message and I will get back to you.

**Please ask all questions / concerns before you BID!* If you have been doing your research and look over these photos, you know these stock ones in this condition don’t come around that often.

I want this transaction to be pleasant as I also want this Jeep that has been cared for so many years to go to a good Home.
