1983 Jeep CJ Scrambler
This Scrambler is a great candidate for restoration: straight body, originally slate blue with surface rust only, and Mopar fuel injection. Slate blue paint is a 2-year color and very popular among Jeep collectors. I bought another Scrambler and do not have the space. I started stripping it down for paint and would like to sell as is. Here are some more details:- 1983 Scrambler
- Originally slate blue paint with slate blue interior
- Lifetime California Jeep before coming to Texas in spring 2019
- Paint is faded through with surface rust in spots
- Body is super straight with no dents
- 150k miles and T5 transmission
- Jeep runs/shifts great and has Mopar fuel injection
- Power steering / manual brakes
- Bedlined: lighter style bed liner that's starting to flake off and should be easier to remove
- Rust: Surface rust only where the paint is faded and a few spots where the bedliner has peeled off. Floor pans are solid and not spongy.
- Full Classic-brand hard top Uncut dash panel
- Factory chrome wagon wheels with Michelin AT tires.
- Wheels could use stripping/polishing.
- I have begun stripping it down for prep and paint.
- Took off rear tube bumper and spare tire carrier. Will include either or both.
- Most interior items and side mirrors were removed and in poor condition.
- Comes with newer black dash pad, black dash panels, & factory side steps
- I started to replace a few non-factory parts with factory: windshield hinges, cowl vent cover, and glove box door. The hinges are installed. The cowl cover and glove box door are included.
- Seats are trashed and only including a driver.
- Prior owner replaced the original windshield and matched paint at that time.
- Cowl is perfect and showing pic with windshield folded down.
