Description:
1980 Jeep CJ
Up for bids is a 1980 Jeep CJ7 with a 4.2 6 cylinder and auto trans. It has a aftermarket fiberglass body, windshield frame, and fenders. Has a ton of new parts. All stainless hinges on doors, hood, windshield frame, stainless vent covers, hood latches and hood hardware. All new within last year. All new hoses for coolant, brakes hoses, fuel fill hoses and rubber fuel lines are new. It has a new billet Chevrolet HEI distributor. This is a great upgrade to the stock jeep distributor and ignition system. It only takes 1 single 12 volt wire to run whole ignition system all in 1 unit vs the stock separate coi, ignition box and tons of wires. It has the Webber carb upgrade, again way better than the stock jeep. All fluids are new. Has a headman header with a complete new 2.5" mandrel bent exhaust with performance muffler. Sounds nice and throaty but not too loud at all. The guage cluster is new, all gauges work but not terribly accurate (common on the old jeeps) The oil pressure guage is aftermarket and correct. Engine has excellent oil pressure cold and hot. The Raceline Rock Crusher wheels and Falken 33 12.50 15 all terrain tires are new. Have maybe 10 miles on them. It has a 4" suspension lift, 1" body lift. Shocks are Rancho RS9000X adjustable also has a Rancho steering stabilizer shock. All fluids are new. The frame was soft around rear shackles like all the old cj and yj jeeps get. I build crane trucks for a living and do frame extensions on big trucks all the time. I cut the rear 12" off both frame rails then cut out all pieces I need to build the rear frame boxes on a plasma table then welded them together and then to the jeep. The rear tail crossmember that the rear bumber bolts too was replaced with a new factory style piece when the frame was done. All these repairs are very common on old jeeps but most are done very rough. I've saw just about everything used to patch up a jeep frame. That's not the case here you need to really be looking to tell its been worked on at all. Windshield has a crack(again it's a jeep thing) I've never saw a windshield last over a few months in a cj or wrangler without cracking. If the buyer wants it I have a extra 4.2 engine that runs great. Was bought as a rebuilt crate motor in 2008. That engine has a nice aftermarket aluminum valve cover. The paint is not that great at all. Looks good from 20ft but if your looking for a show piece it will definitely need a paint job. Message me with any questions.Vehicle Details:
