1987 Jeep Wrangler

This is a one of a kind 1987 Wrangler with only 22,183 documented miles. 1987 is the first year for the Jeep Wrangler and there are very few left in this kind of condition. This Wrangler runs and drives like new, very solid. There is not a hint of rust anywhere on this Southern California Jeep, and the undercarriage looks fantastic. Just check out the pictures, beautiful original interior with 1980s Lecarra steering wheel. This comes with the original AMC Jeep Keys and owners manual that look like new. I also have the original floor mats that that you could get back in the 80s at the Jeep Dealer, and these mats look great. I have to get a picture of the floor mats on here, you guys from that era will remember these floor mats and crack up when you see them, this style floor mat goes back to the 70s, they are really cool. These 1987 Wranglers were being built right when Chrysler was taking over, but it was to soon for any Chrysler Logos, this Jeep has AMC all over it and all the hardware is Standard. I spent $4,000 on the paint and it looks great. It's the original color paint with a slight bit of Violet added to it for a special effect my painter wanted to do, it's very cool. This has the original Ramsey winch from the 1980s and the decals on it still look great. I put new Goodyear Wrangler tires with white letters that these 80s Wranglers came with. Also, the stock wheels were in boxes when I bought this Jeep, so I put them on instead of the after market wheels that were on it. The stock wheels you see on this Wrangler were taken off in 1987 when the Jeep was new, and are in perfect condition, just like new! This Jeep has the 2.5L Engine which has plenty of power for normal use. If you want to go off road with big tires and wheels and race in Baja, this is not for you. Actually, the optional 4.2L engine that you could get in 1987 had similar horse power to this 2.5 but had more torque. The 4.2 has incredible low end torque, this 2.5 has all it's power at the top end. I think this Wrangler, given it's condition, would be best used as an around the town vehicle, and taken to the car events on the weekends, but that's up to you. People love this Jeep, guys are always yelling "Cool Jeep" at me. I have a very nice original style top that comes with this, but I like driving it around topless, I'm in San Diego, so that's what I do year round. I've had well over 100 Wranglers that I've sold over the last 30 years and I'm having more fun with this 87 Wrangler than I've had in a long time. I have over 700 hours and $15000 in this Wrangler. Yeah, I got a little carried away, but I knew this Jeep could be so awesome, even the clock works. Check out under the hood, when you pop the hood, the engine compartment looks fantastic, I detailed the heck out of it. I've got over a hundred hours under the hood alone, new cap, plugs, wires, oil, belts, battery, flushed everything out, and much more. Call me if you want more information about this Jeep. 619 925-3174 Jim.
