Selling my 1988 Jeep Comanche truck. This 31 year old 2 Wheel Drive truck has spent its life in FL, NC, and SC, so no rust issues. I purchased it from the original owner in 2017 in hopes of restoring and keeping it, however my priorities have changed and I want it to find a good new home. These Jeeps were only made from 1986 - 1992, and are becoming rare and increasingly hard to find in decent condition. This one has the shorter, six foot truck bed. The truck turns heads everywhere I drive it. It has some decent upgrades including a small lift kit, tube bumpers, chrome grill, lockable chrome tool box, and newer Jeep alloy rims with 235/65R/17 inch Wrangler tires. The tread is fair but seeing some sidewall cracks from age. There is a jack but no spare.

Interior: The pictures show that interior is in very good condition. Headliner looks like a professional replacement. The rear view mirror is not stock and has two map lights. The stock radio has been upgraded to a Pioneer CD/USB port with a remote, along with larger Pioneer speakers behind the seats. There is a crack in the dash pad that I immediately covered with the rubber gadget holder to protect it from worsening. The carpet may not be original. I've added the rubber floor mats. The lock for the sliding rear window fell off last summer but is in the center console and can be reattached.

Exterior: The paint looks decent but is not original and shows obvious signs of downgrading mainly from clear coat peel and some fading. The original color was a few shades lighter as can be seen in the pics of the truck bed. I was told the truck previously had a bed liner. The body is straight with only minor dings. I've taken some pics to show body and paint issues.

Mechanically: This infamous 4.0 liter 6 cyl. truck functions well, however there is some oil that leaks out or around the valve cover and makes it way onto the block. No drips underneath but you get the tell-tale odor when driven a little distance. The truck starts, idles, and drives well. The tranny shifts smoothly at lower and highway speeds. The exhaust has a slightly deeper/ more mello sound from what the original would have had. I was told the AC does not hold a charge. The brakes work well but the pedal travel is a little more than I like. There is a new uninstalled replacement brake master cylinder that came with the truck when I bought it. The steering wheel functions properly, however the tilt steering column needs to be tightened, which is a common fixable issue with the design. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQ-koHkpECI)

Electrically: I replaced the alternator with a heavy duty one about six months ago. The electric door locks and windows work. The passenger window is slow as well as the windshield wipers. It may just be a lubrication issue, after all, the truck is 31 years old. I could not get the cruise control to work.

I've tried to accurately describe the condition of the truck. It is being sold "AS IS" with no warranty. The truck is located in SC. Local pick up only.
