Description:
1963 Jeep CJ CJ5
1963 Jeep CJ5 restoration project. Not complete. Jeep was taken down to frame, sandblasted, primed and repainted frame. Original hurricane engine completely rebuilt (block up, re-bored) by reputable classic engine shop. All drive components front and rear axles (Dana 44 rear) and (Dana 27 Front) and Dana/Spicer 18 Transfer Case all rebuilt with rebuild kits. New Clutch assembly, brakes, fuel lines pedal springs and bushings complete. New exhaust. New body (currently in eCoat with underbody sprayed in rhino liner) New Fenders (currently in eCoat with inside bumpers sprayed in Rhino Liner). Jeep has original hood that was chemically stripped and 2k primed), Windshield frame and tailgate also original and chemically stripped and primed. Original wheels were striped and powder coated. Brand new BFG AT Tires installed. Most of the parts to finish this restoration are with the vehicle. Brand new wiring harnesses, lights, side steps, new high back Corbeau cloth sports seats, fuel tank, etc. This restoration is probably 80 percent compete. Now is the time to make it your own. I have invested over $16K in parts, engine rebuilding, new body, seats, tires, etc. etc. Pictures shown are for current state of the vehichle, but I have 100's of pictures of the restoration process to date. This will basically be a brand new 1963 Jeep CJ5 when someone completes it. Originally started this project for teenage children to drive. They have little desire for old Jeeps. :( I'd like to see this go to a home that can finish the restoration and enjoy a great piece of automotive history.Vehicle Details:
