Jeepster pickup bronco
1968 Jeep Commando
Jeepster Pickup 1968
Shhhh...don't tell your significant others- yours or mine... Here's the deal... It's my wife's favorite. She will be crushed to learn it's leaving the barn. Your honey will have stronger objections. It's not the money... Because, as you will see.... It's something darker. Every time you take the truck out for a spin, and I mean EVERY time, you will be transformed. Suddenly and forever, you are George Clooney with a puppy under each arm. Or maybe George Clooney with a puppy under one arm and a bottle of casa amigos tequila under the other. And glasses lined up on the hood. Irresistible.... Women, men, granny's, small children, large children... you will be surrounded and admired, chatted up and selfied wherever you go... So get ready...
Understand this makes no sense at all. 1,000 hours or more spent restoring a pickup. Its love. There is no business reason to invest that much time on any truck. Of course the result is obvious... It's by far the best in the land. Gorgeous and rare, you will never see another. Now I like broncos and land rovers as much as the next guy-maybe more than the next guy unless the next guy is a rabid around classics like me. Each has their own point of view, gifts, quirks and utilities. This one is special...Its because you will never see another...Also completely practical, a real cargo bed, three speed, highway cruising speeds, comfy seats, reliability, outstanding visibility-check, check and check (mate).
The truck lives in northern California wine country. I'll include a couple of bottles of my winemaker friends favorites if you promise the drinking starts after the driving.. It's a dry west coast truck with no drama. Always stored inside the barn. Driven regularly to keep everything humming and serviced by someone who knows exactly what to do. May be seen and inspected.
You can prowl wiki for the practical's.... It's a three speed with the famous dauntless v6. Reliable machinery to enjoy any kind of pastime...
And George, if you are reading this, you can't buy it. It would be unfair to the rest of us to be George, with the truck, puppies and tequila- give the rest of us a chance to grab that brass ring on a sunny saturday...
