1982 Jeep CJ-8 Laredo Scrambler in Factory Original Black Paint with Original Black Interior and Hardtop. This Jeep was purchased from the previous owners of 32 years. Options include the 258 CI 6 Cylinder Engine, 5 Speed Manual Transmission, 4WD with Hi/LO Transfer Case, Limited Slip Rear Axle, Manual Lock Front Hubs, Power Disc Brakes, Power Steering, Factory Tachometer & Gauges, Factory Clock, Factory Tilt Steering Column, Bucket Seats, Console, Factory Seat Belts, Matching Wheels, Factory Roll Bar, Chrome Grill, Rear Spare Tire Carrier, Factory Hardtop with Full Doors, Rear Tailgate, Factory Jack/Tools, Factory Carpet and More. Mileage shown on this Scrambler is 101,000 miles.
The exterior of this Scrambler is complete original with original Black Paint and factory stripes. This is one SOLID SCRAMBLER! The only rust bubble on this Scrambler is below the Jeep emblem on the driver's side of the front cowl. This is a bubble and is not rusted through. The rest of the body including the rear bed, rockers, fenders, floors, tailgate, rear quarter panels are very nice as shown in the pictures. The frame of this Scrambler is very nice with original factory grease pencil frame Check Marks still visible on both sides of the rear frame rails. The rear wheel tubs are excellent. You will have to look long and hard to find a more rust-free Scrambler!
The interior is the original interior. This includes the original carpet, door panels and seat covers. There are sheepskin covers over the original seat covers which will need replaced. The original gauges, optional tachometer and optional clock are all complete. The original seat belts are complete. The door panels are original. All the glass is complete.
Mechanically this Scrambler starts, runs and stops after being parked for over 20 years. The 258 6 cylinder engine starts and runs good. The 5 Speed transmission will need rebuilt as 3rd gear is none existent therefore consider this Scrambler to Lot Drive and will need work. I only have the bottom half of the original air cleaner for this jeep. The exhaust is complete and in good condition. The tires are matching however they are old. The clutch works properly. Currently we have this Scrambler running on a small fuel can as the original gas tank has old fuel. Currently working to flush the tank however this may not be completed by auction end so assume it will not happen.
