The Jeep was repaintedthe original Mandarin Orange about 5 years ago and it looks great. I sanded and primed a 2" square under the hood that got battery acid on it. Very little rust anywhere besides where that happened.

I added the full stainless steel exhaust last year. The driver's side exhaust manifoldhas a gasket leakrightnow. I have newFlowtech ceramic coated headers and 304 stainless Kooks R300-10 mufflers that will fix that.

The rear pinion bearing has play in it (Just starting.) I took pictures of the ring and pinion when I changed the fluid in the differential in March. There isn't much wear on the ring or pinion gears yet so it will drive fine for a while. You could replace the bearing now or drive it until it gets bad. I priced an entire rebuild on Summit Racing at around $700. This includes one-piece drive shafts, bearings,sealsand new gears. I have replaced a ring and pinion and two axles on other Jeeps I have had. (The shop manual shows you how to do it.)

A full original 1978 Jeep shop manual and current electrical schematics are included. The engine was totallyrewired when I installed the high energy distributor, (No more brain box or points.)

New items installed in the last 4 years:

Power steering gearbox and lower steering column coupling.

Twin Skyjacker steering stabilizers.

Master cylinder, proportioning valve & rear brake lines.

All rear drum and emergency brake parts

Full leather Corbeau sliding and reclining racing seats, The driver's seat has an air bulb for adjustable lumbar support.

Yellow and black Corbeau ratcheting 4 point racing harnesses, are installed to spec.

Custom built heavy duty rear drive shaft.

All red polyurethane bushings on the shackles and springs. (Bolts are 5.5" center to center.)

Gas tank, sender, filler and vent tubes.

Stainless steel differential cover.

Front bumper and all hinges/trim hardware are stainless steel now.

Full padded roll cage with independant yellow or red dome lights.

Main instrument cluster, (The old one was shot.)

All indicator light bulbs in the cluster are new. Amps/parking brake, bright lights, oil pressure, turn signals...)

All other dash light bulbs and the nameplates are new and function.

An electric water temperature senderand gauge were added with the mechanical oil pressure and volt meters.

Glowing LED light switches are new for: The front KC fog lamps, LED reverse lamps, independent red and yellow dome lights and the rear LED spotlight.

The AMC 360 V8 has:

A small cam.

HEI distributor.

All new wiring.

Live Wires spark plug wires.

Edelbrock - Model 1604 Performer Series 600 cfm Carburetor.

Edelbrock - Performer AMC Model 2131 high rise manifold.

Chrome Edelbrock valve covers.

K&M air filter and oil filler cap. (Have second filter, both washable.)

Aluminum radiator and fan.

Interstate Mega-Tron II, 700 CCA battery with on-board Schumacher trickle charger.

304 stainless steel battery tray.

304 stainless steel hood prop rod.

New belts, light relays & starter solenoid.

All stainless steel, (304 and 409) dual exhaust with quick release stainless steel hanging hardware for easy muffler changing.

Currently I have Headman headers with custom built 304 stainless resonators bolted to them. The rear has 304 stainless Magnaflow mufflers before the tail pipes.

I have brand new Flowtech ceramic coated headers and 304 stainless Kooks R300-10 mufflers that can replace the headers and resonators if you prefer a more quiet sound. I just haven't installed them.(Included as well are: Six feet of 3" 304 stainless pipe, Four 304 stainless couplings, two 90 degree 409 stainless bends, two rubber/stainless hangers, two extra 3" stainless header flanges and two 304 stainless exhaust pipe clamps.

I run Mobile One 5W/30 oil with a zinc additive for the lifters.

A full Bestop top, bikini top and a new car cover are included. The top is in great condition and all panels zip apart. I store both tops zipped apart and rolled up in soft blankets.

There is relatively no rust under the aluminum body guards. I have pictures.

Search for "orange 79 cj-5" on YouTube. The video that comes up provides a 360 degree view of the jeep before all my changes with the previous owner describingit. You can also hear the engine running back when Flowmaster 40s were installed ahead of the rear tires.

Odometer details:

The original odometer had19,184miles on it when I bought it in August of 2014.The previous owner set the odometer to 0 miles after he installed the rebuilt 360.When I replaced the speedometer cluster in July of 2016, it had 19,592 miles on it.The new odometer as of today has 389 miles on it.

Tires are 33x12.5 R15 mud & snow. They have approximately 80% remaining.
