1971 Jeep Commando Pickup
This is possibly one of the most solid unrestored Commandos you'll ever run across. The "pickup" model as I call it seems to be one of the harder styles to find also from what others have told me. I was the second person to title it. I bought it in Colorado a couple years ago running and driveable after the original owner died, and thought I'd do a simple paint job and use it for a fishing rig on the weekends. Drove it onto the trailer and brought it home. After getting it home though I realized I got much more than I bargained for in terms of quality. It would be a shame for me to let this solid body rust away as a fishing rig. I started to give it a full restoration but it's gotten to the point where I no longer will have a fishing rig I can abuse a little. Every time I'd take something apart, expecting to find SOMETHING rusted out, it's just not there. THE FIRST 6 PHOTOS ARE OF THE JEEP WHEN I BOUGHT IT IN COLORADO. THE OTHER PHOTOS SHOW IT AS IT CURRENTLY SITS, DISASSEMBLED IN MY SHOP. Very light surface rust scratches in the original paint, but I mean there isn't a bad place in the body you'll have to cut out anywhere. Only a couple small dents even. I've had the engine completely and professionally rebuilt, and I've got brand new parts in boxes everywhere. Hell Creek 3" lift kit, electronic carb, HEI ignition, power brakes, power steering, new gauges, new gas tank, 5 new tires on sandblasted/enamel painted original wheels with original hubcaps, steering wheel, clutch and pressure plate, refurbished radiator, body mount bushings. Other stuff I can't remember, and I've got all the nuts and bolts I took loose in zip lock bags labeled. I'm obviously asking WAY less than what I've just got into the Commando and the parts, that's the way these things go. I needed a fishing rig, and this Commando deserves better. Please look in all the nooks and crannies in the pics. You'll see what I'm saying about this Commando being the one you want to restore. No wasted dozens or hundreds of expensive hours cutting out rusted metal It's solid everywhere. I'll find another fishing rig, but I don't want to go any further with this. Serious, realistic offers considered, but I've already got it priced over a couple grand less than I have into it, so you're saving thousands up-front already. And where would you ever find another body like this one? Nowhere. Again, serious and fair offers considered. No guarantees or warranty, condition as I've described and per the photos you see. It is available for showing if you want to come see it. We can put the tires back on and roll it onto your trailer. Non-refundable Paypal deposit of at least $500 within 24 hours of auction end and the balance in full within 7 days of auction end. I might help with transport if you click buy it now, but you'll need to email me first with where you are so we can discuss and come to an agreement before auction end. I need to get this out of my shop.Vehicle Details:
